I opened the door to a Jehovah's Witness today, wouldn't it be ironic if this peddler of hope and salvation turns out to be an agent of death and disease!
I am usually polite but firm with these types, but if it happened now I would go ballistic and chase them off with whatever I have to hand.... alcohol, loo roll or even the dogs. Selfish idiots.

I would see through your ruse when I spotted you were clutching a copy of Practical Photography instead of the Watchtower

Those who are into Terry Pratchet books will recognise Pastor Oats and Constable Visit at once as fantastic (but mildly sympathetic) caricatures of the doorstep evangelist types!

People have all sorts of belief systems and everyone is welcome at PU. But we do avoid politics and religion in the forums, which hopefully goes a long way towards not causing offence.
Best regards, John

I'm fed up with all the doom and gloom.
The BBC isn't helping - instead of MOD it is showing Mrs Browns Boys live. What has the world done to deserve that????

Two packages arrived today. One was delivered by Royal Mail and I opened my door to find the parcel neatly waiting by my feet and the driver neatly waiting 2 metres or so away. The second was delivered by my Yodel Lady, who handed me the package whilst apologising for being early but didn't seem to mind standing right next to me.

It took me a moment before I realised why the Royal Mail were behaving so cautiously.....clearly standing instructions are varying from courier to coutier.
