Well I'm of the generation who expect not to get any kind of pension in the end at all anyway still maybe 35 to 40 years wait for me! But that's another issue....
A friends company has sent everyone off to work from home from today. We are still waiting to hear what the plan is. Some people have been getting laptops and telephony equipment supplied but no idea yet if it is only a few or everyone.
I work in the middle of Budapest but refuse to panic and just carrying on with basic precautions and washing my hands. But due to a relentless morasse of large bills over the last 6 months I basically just go from the office to the house and that is it.....
I wouldn't be able to tell easily anyway as we are entering the hayfever season and the smog in this city plays funtimes with me. Back home at the weekends in the countryside I am totally fine!

Most of our pension comes from what we saved over the years. His Nibs company didn't initially have a pension plan so we set one up for ourselves, hence the Annuity. Just as well as the pension funds here are not doing great and some pensioners are facing cuts in their pensions. Stock markets and low interest rates not great for pension funds.
We went to the supermarket today, all stocked up and a bit busier than last week.
Made sure we washed our hands when we got back, and wiped down the steering wheel, gear stick and door handles.
Stocked up on booze so we'll be alright .

So far, we haven't seen any signs of panic buying and no empty shelves. I daresay that hand disinfection products might go scarce for a while, but there are plenty of them to be had in bigger suppliers like Costco. I noticed that there was picture of a shopper with a huge case of toilet rolls, but the paper declined to mention that it was shot in Costco where that's the only way you can buy such things. Perhaps she ran a shop, in which case there might have been a photo opportunity to show her with several cases.....who said photography never lies?
I do see there could be a problem for those who can't afford to get a few things in, or who can't get out to the larger stores, so hopefully families will pull together.
Meanwhile, we actually got out to shoot a few pictures for ourselves yesterday, which was a first for quite a while. Very pleasant too. Today the sun is shining, a package is on the way with another lens and you can bet that by the time it arrives the sun will be gone and the rain will have set in!

You're welcome to visit my area of Dorset if you'd like to see what it looks like. So far, we haven't seen any signs of panic buying and no empty shelves.
Funny thing is, I've not come across anyone who admits to doing it, they all think it's absurd.

Loads of shops here sold out of anti bac products such as wipes, hand gel etc.
Went to one supermarket and they had no dried pasta left on the shelves. My wife went to another a few days ago and there was no fruit, loo roll, pasta etc. There even was a lady in the hand wash aisle saying to people it was a max of 2 products per customer!
Didn't think of stocking up on alcohol

After returning from the supermarket I have visions of thousands of people sitting on the loo, eating bowls of pasta and beans, and rubbing their hands with anti-bacterial gel between every mouthful.
I too stocked up on wine

Isn’t this normal behaviour? After returning from the supermarket I have visions of thousands of people sitting on the loo, eating bowls of pasta and beans, and rubbing their hands with anti-bacterial gel between every mouthful.
Just me then...

Were these visions before or after your consumption of copious amounts of alcohol?

I opened the door to a Jehovah's Witness today, wouldn't it be ironic if this peddler of hope and salvation turns out to be an agent of death and disease!

In their worldview of things, their agent of death might be your gateway to paradise.... so don't hold your breath... unless of course you don't wish to breath in their salvation

Nonsense! Order & pay on line and get them to deliver it. Leave a big bucket of chilled disinfectant on your drive or at your front entrance with instructions for wine bottles to be deposited in said bucket.Down to my last two bottles of vino so I will have to run the gauntlet at Tesco.....Que sera sera.
Couple of hours later, retrieve, rinse bottles and enjoy a cool, corvid free cabernet. Or whatever!

So that's why the local rooks and jackdaws stagger around the sky shouting noisily at the weekends...a cool, corvid free cabernet.
