We are having the house decorated at the moment. I am tasked with replacing the 13A sockets/light switches/downlighters etc. I have spent the last two days crawling through narrow loft spaces; eating dead wasps as they fall when I remove the old lights; rewiring a telephone extension while balancing a torch under my arm.

I want to get out with my camera but don't have the energy to lift it.

Sounds like you need a head torch, which also happens to be handy for night photography!

I have thought about this, but knowing me would forget I had it on and go to the supermarket looking a right plonker.

Just tell them you are rehearsing for the live-action version of this...
SteveH!

Some people call me 'strange'.
I prefer 'unconventional'.
But I'm willing to compromise and accept 'eccentric'.

Bank holiday here tomorrow (Ascension day) and guess what? The weather will be cr*p. We have had a lovely few days, including today (a slightly cooler 22) but tomorrow we will be lucky if it makes it to 13!! Not that it matters to us - everyday is a holiday .

No excuse not to work in the garden tomorrow I guess, unless it chucks it down too.

Meanwhile all the local kids are gathered opposite our house, boys on one patch of grass, girls on another, sunbathing, swimming and playing football in the road. Clearly no one has told them (as we were when we moved in!) that swimming is not allowed in the waterway. They are enjoying themselves and i can't see they are doing any harm . It is the miserable people on the other side of the water with their private moorings who got the council to ban swimming.

Woken at 2 am by a massive thunderstorm, lightning firing off like I have never seen. Blearily set up my camera in bulb mode 5 minute exposure and waited eagerly for results. After second go remembered to take the lens cap off. Lightning still going off but moving over the house, third go exposed the street nicely but - no lightning! Sod it, back to bed.

Haven't been to Skipton in decades.

Currently without a bathroom, and without summer. Who stole summer?

The bathroom will be back and improved in a week or so but summer???

No photography going on in this neck of the woods .

Best Fathers’ Day ever here in Cornwall, treated to lunch by wife and son at a farm shop where they serve their own cattle as beef. Huge delicious portions and wine, followed by a refreshing walk along the beach collecting shells then back for tea and cake.
