Fruit gins are fun to make...

...and even better to drink.
Cheers, HG

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

Those of you who like taking photos of planes would love where I live right now. We have a major NATO exercise going on over us, with a huge range of fighter aircraft (including a couple of Migs from Poland) taking off and landing at the nearby base. They go off and play over Germany and Denmark but fly low over us at least four times a day.
I don't take plane photos, but they are good to see, if not to hear!

The British do come and play at other times of the year, and have been more present in previous Frisian Flag exercises.
As it is what is here is making a racket four times a day. This afternoon the Germans were particularly low flying, buzzing over the garden, while I was battling ivy and dandelions. I think I'll wear earplugs tomorrow!
The spotters hills near the base are packed with 'togs of all nationalities.

PLAY, PLAY. You don't believe that these people ( notice the non gender specific) flying about at a 1000 miles per hour at 100 feet off the ground, are actually enjoying themselves. I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!

They must have had a lie in this morning - they are only just going over now.

Sun is shining, it is warm, and definitely feels like spring at last. Now where did I put my earplugs...

Recently, I have been having a thing for orange walls. I see them wherever I and I can't stand but take a photo of them. Is this odd?

Yes.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

If they were flying at 1000 mph at 100 feet I think Gwyn would need more than earplugs.

Boom boom (and i don't mean Basil Brush !

They save the booms for over the Atlantic, unless they are chasing Russians. Since we are so close to the base now we don't get those either. We used to occasionally where we used to live.
We are both old enough to recognise a sonic boom, but I remember my younger neighbours were worried by it.

Here we just get the house shaken on it's foundations by bombing practice on one of the islands. That was a bit of a shock the first time it happened!

Meanwhile spring has truly sprung here, flowers, fresh green leaves, warmth. Haven't had the heating on for over a week now!
