Using an iPhone as a hotspot you can surf the net with the iPad anywhere without needing a separate contract. Handy on trips away from home.

You can do the same with any mobile phone and any tablet or laptop RobL.

I have oodles of data on my phone plan just so I can do just that when travelling, since WiFi is not always available where we stay or can be expensive.

I even allow His Nibs to use my hotspot, just because I am so nice

I'm afraid I don't like or trust Apple. It could be the price, operating system or fact that they slow older models down without telling anybody!

If I recall correctly the French government are taking them to court over built in obsolescence, which is illegal in France (as it should be EVERYWHERE!!!)

Samsung are just as bad, and there must be other multi nationals that do the same.

I have a Lenovo tablet, it's basic and reliable, my phone is a cheap thing that does the job, infact the previous one outlasted Honesty's Samsung.

I suppose it's just a case of you pays your money and takes your choice!

Pentax cameras though, that's a different kettle of fish...

2018. So far so good. Starting to feel in a clickography sort of way.....

Mini rant, photography related, sort of.
I made a photo collage of His Nibs and his assorted bands to go in his man-cave/music room. Got it printed, 50x50cm, which is the size he wanted to fill a hole on the wall.
Today we trekked off to Ikea for some bits and bobs and they had a 50x50 frame so I bought it.
Got home, put photo in frame. Doesn't fit! The frame is right but the photo is 50.5x50.5. So now I have to somehow trim 0.25cm off all four sides of the print. My photo trimmer only goes to 30cm. My nerves will be shot.
Sigh.

Stanley knife and straightedge?

Yes but it will be a nerve racking job, getting it exactly square. There is no mount to hide any cock-up. A task for tomorrow in the sunshine.

Meanwhile I have put together a couple of Ikea bar tools, while His Nib watched the footy. All the parts were there, and the instructions made sense. They look good, and sit well too.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Just got back from The Alhambra, Bradford's jewel of a theatre.

Mrs HG bought tickets to see Warhorse as a Xmas pressie for my son, his girlfriend and ourselves.
What a show, highly recommend it if you get chance. The puppetry is amazing and the story, well...

Had to have a G'n'T to help absorb the show

I've seen the outside of that building. I've been up to Bradford Uni for a couple of things over the last year.

My son took his partner to London to see War Horse as a birthday present a couple of years ago, and they both loved it. She is an equine vet and was very impressed with the puppetry too.
Sounds like an excellent Christmas present!

As for the chocolate camera, I want one too!
