Another pointless thread

Slightly sore head after evening in pub with old pal - I’m such a lightweight! Also suffering from another attack of GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) but every delivery is met with “Oh not more stuff for that b****y camera!” so thought if I traded in three aps-c lenses I haven’t used for a while then I could argue I have actually reduced the stockpile. Trouble is one of them is the 10-17mm fisheye and having looked at it again cannot bear to part with it, it is small but beautifully formed and takes very sharp images. So, more devious tactics required......

Just come in from the hut where I'm rebuilding a moped. It needs doing so I can sel it on.

I need the space!

Just stuck some stuff up on Ebay, it's the first time I've done so since you have to do everything online. What a mess!

I used to use a prog on my PC ad then upload all at once, now it's one at a time on line..

...it'll take longer to list them than the sales will last!

I think I'll need a beer this evening, there's a box of stuff from the hut to list...
Cheers, HG

I've never used e-bay.

Currently having a break from stripping wallpaper. God-awful job.

Have you tried a steamer, they certainly help.

Can't use a steamer as the previous owner in his wisdom wallpapered directly onto the plasterboard, without sealing it or plastering it first. A real pig of a job, but I am winning, with a minimum of damage to the plasterboard.
I'd have just painted over the paper but it was so badly done, full of bubbles and just wrapped around the corners, that it had to come off.

Too dark to continue now so I'm enjoying a well earned large G&T

I’ve had a jolly day too - rush of blood to the head led to some early spring cleaning and managed to knock a large bowl of filthy water over the landing carpet. Luckily have a carpet cleaner so sucked most up but then had to shampoo the whole carpet. Then herself complained about the state of her car after I drove it into a farmyard yesterday (it’s a 4x4, mine ain’t) so spent the rest of the afternoon jetwashing it. Time for photography? If only. Time for a large malt though.

Honesty used my tablet to check her emails when she was home a few weeks back.

Not a problem, but now Gmail for her is coming to me!

And it wants her to check the security of her account, and keeps nagging!

I can't dismiss it and it's driving me mad!!

Looks like you are going to have to give her the tablet and get a new one !
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

What would people suggest for a new tablet?

I bought a cheap Hudl a couple of years ago, just for basic things - mostly to Google topics that come up over lunch or supper in the kitchen, and I don't want to go upstairs to use my desktop PC. I'm getting a bit fed up with the vagaries and odd behaviour of the simple Hudl and think I might upgrade. But just a modest upgrade. I'm not going to spend a lot on a multifunction Apple or similar, because I will never use it to handle emails, achieve world domination, or take photos (forbid the idea!).

Hi Nibs likes his Lenovo Android tablet.
He has a whole collection of cheapo tablets which pack up after a couple of years (usually jut after the guarantee runs out), and he has had expensive Samsungs too The Lenovo seems to be the one he likes the most.
I use a Lenovo Yoga laptop that I can use as a tablet too. A big heavy tablet but a tablet. Useful when flying.

Ok so you don’t want an iPad but take a look at the iPad mini which I have, not too expensive and after daily use still works like new. Bonus is I can tether it to the K1 (and probably anything else with WiFi) and is small enough not to notice in a camera bag.

So very often not getting the best is a long term mistake. Sue bought me an iPad that I didn't know I wanted a few years ago, and it's still going strong. Not only that but I found it would do all sorts of things that were actually useful after all.
Best regards, John
