I lost mine tonight (dignity, that is). Watching Brian Cox on the One Show my wife completely straightfaced said "I wonder what it's like being married to an intelligent person". Completely deflated, didn't come back with the obvious retort.

'I'm yet to discover that' comes to mind ..... (you'd have to be quick though )

On our way home after a couple of weeks in the camper. Can't watch the rugby, it's our grandson's birthday today so cake and presents are the order of the day. Or will be once we get home and swap to the car.

First UK BBQ this year just finished. Weber Smokey Joe version. Bought it twenty three years ago in Oman and its still going strong! Yes it has seen heavy use. It's a bit like a K1000, built to last forever if it's looked after properly. I blame Aldi for the cheap range of excellent beverages. My own back garden is a special place for relaxing, never quite felt the same in provided accommodation abroad.
Too far from a shore.

We had a barbecue tonight too. Also a Weber, but only a six year old one, belonging to our son. Last week we used our Cobb, because that fits in the camper.
The grandsons enjoyed baking bread, on sticks, over the embers of the wood fire we used to keep warm in their garden.
Good result in the rugby.

Family flights booked. In from France and Germany. This month and next. Good to be home. Chilled heading on icy.
Off down to Leamington Spa on Saturday to see the youngest who has just started with Jaguar.
I thought the older one gets the quieter life is. Not so.
Complaints?
Nah, life is good as long as your eyes are open.

Glad you are enjoying Blighty!
Things not so good here in the lowlands, nothing worse than a child (albeit a 39 year old child) having personal, financial and health problems, and being unable to do anything about it.

Understanding the personal and financial problems Gwyn, my eldest in France is slowly getting the better of both. Me stepping in financially was always a short term solution until the next episode. As long as you can offer support, things can change.
Fog this morning in the North East.
It's a good job we don't have spider web eating frogs here as all of the webs are well exposed.......

Well that rugby match must have had you torn Gary. England out. What a shocker.
His Nibs will have to support Wales now
