Congrats on the Pup and your semi retirement Dave. We expect lots of photos of the cutie and you adventures together .

Just spent the day (from 8.15 to 16.45) doing a camper training, learning to slalom through cones forwards and backwards, manoeuvre it in tight spaces, stop it safely under dry and under slippery conditions, how to safely avoid unexpected obstacles in the road, in wet and dry conditions and then how to do all the above on a hill with a 360 bend at the bottom. The camper needs a wash now - the water used contained soap to add sip and some chemical to keep it hygienic as it was recycled the whole time, so now the camper is covered in streaks from that water.

I am wored out, but a little more confident about driving the camper now.

My car was parked up in the same place in Whitby from Thursday afternoon until Monday morning but only got bombed twice.

That's because I didn't wash it before we went

We've just bought a folding camper (nowhere to put a van') been sat on the drive two weeks today and still not got a towbar fitted to the car

Good luck with the dog Dave, and with the semi retirement.

It's good that your job allows it, I could go that way but would loose far too much income thanks to government meddling with our pensions.

A folding trailer spider? you'll have to take a Caravan Club course on driving..

..they'll teach you where to sit on the road to cause maximum chaos, how to block junctions, where to stop in car parks...

Seriously, have fun, you could always head out with Dave and see some wonderful countryside.

Latest here is the C4 Picasso has thrown a wobbly with the elctrics, 5 days before we head off to France!
Cheers, HG

Off to test our foster dog terry, to see how he responds to indoor cats. Not expecting it too go well.

The lady running the cat training session has one of his litter mates, so they can have a play round the garden after.

Might stop off for a cup of tea and some cake on the way home.

We fostered a 12 year old westie bitch for the last four years of her life. When we first had her she would chase cats and grey squirrels with great enthusiasm (but little success). A year or two later she would look at them and one could guess what was in her mind: "I don't have a hope of catching it - is it worth the effort?". In the last year or two of her life she pretended, for the sake of her pride, that she had not even seen the cat or squirrel.

Well at least your taking it to the right place to be fixed.

But that's what you get for buying a French car, Megan has always told me to depress the clutch before pressing the start button, now after almost 2 years she want's me to press the brake instead ,

Still got the get the towbar fitted for the Camper, God only knows what problems that will add, and speaking of campers I don't need a towing course as I already have years of experience, besides Jeremy Clarkson is no longer in a position to tell me what to do

Good luck with the electrics HG

My parents had campers since about 1991 and I have never been allowed to drive any of them - what was this saying about my driving

I hope you enjioy the camper Gwyn

I do love Citroens though - still keeping my own C5 running along

Many people knock French cars but I have had a few and loved them and the most unreliable car I have owned was a Toyota

I've had 2 turbos go on my Berlingo, both under warranty thank god. My local Citroen Indy bloke is very good after the main dealer stuffed up putting in the 1st replacement he pointed out a stupid cheap 5p filter was at fault and 30,000 miles later had no trouble with the car whatsoever

Surprised by your experience with Toyotas stu, they seem to held in high regard for reliability.

Terry passed his cat test, he pulls to get to cats outside, but introduce him to a dog savvy cat indoors and he runs a mile and won't go near them.

I've had a Guide Dog puppy arrive two weeks ago. He's now eight weeks and as bold as brass and into everything. At least he sleeps until 0530.

Good luck with the pups guys

I was unpleasantly surprised by the Toyota as well When the gearbox failed at 72000 I found out that it was not Toyota at all but a Renault Laguna box bought in by Toyota the only difference being the placement of the mounting holes, the the radiator failed, the water pump too and the the rear brakes all before it was 7 years old - I fixed it and flogged it

Bad news on the Picasso front..

..local ace garage is stumped, they're trying a few things in the morning.

It looks like we might be going to France in the Fiat!

That'll cut back how much wine we can bring back!!!
Cheers, HG

Wine held in the body isn't a problem, as for a roof box, I passed on a pair of roof bars on ebay thinking I'd not need any.

After all I have had the Fiat for 4 years and allways got by with out.

One answer to the problem suggested by Mrs. HG was a trip back to France later in the year, a short break in October maybe?
Cheers, HG
