Why is it you can sit down at home and feel a draft but never actually find the source to be able to seal it? As you can tell the cold wind blows and I am playing find the draft

I've started Winemaking again (after about 15 years)

Batch number 1 is clearing and the second lot is sat bubbling away on the bathroom floor (in a demijohn of course)
Ah....memories

That famous law comes out to play when that happens Dave.

If I could trace the Sod bloke that wrote it I'd nail his ears to the door...

...Oops, Homebrew going down too well!

I hope I get another kit or two for crimbo, if not I'll have to go buy one and get it going...

...this half full barrel may not see Christmas day!

I wondered where that draft had come from, it must be the one Dave has lost and can't find, must see if I can catch it and send it back.

And before anyone asks, No I have not been on the wine (it's not ready yet)

1000th. post so I don`t want to waste it................I too have 2 gallons of grapes from the garden bubbling away in the kitchen. Bumper year for the grapes in the far East. Talking about drafts, bit windy round these parts and it`s not the beans Had a trip along to Horsey to watch the Seals last Sunday. Very windy round the Trossachs there I can tell you, drove me Mrs Cedric and MAk to the local cafe for a warm up, baked spud and coffee too to say nothing about the wood burner. Now for something completely pointless, but I can`t say too much `cos we can`t mention political parties. Had a great lie in this morning, surfaced at half nine thanks to an 0230 start Friday for a day trip to the Czech Republik. Flew with the orange plane company, bit like airborne cattle transport but suppose they are all the same. Well, the Sun would be over the yard arm now so I guess I`d better unscrew a bottle and celebrate the Eve of the Winter Solstice.
Enjoy life

I just drained the campervan of all water to stop freezing, and thus broken taps again. The other person in my house got home from work and said where are we going in the van for the weekend?

I'm well and truly goosed...

...after a fruitless search yesterday an early morning visit to the local Aldi provided the goods.

One plump goose for crimbo day!

Well, it was either get a goose or find out where Mrs HG was going to shove the stuffing...

Sounds good HG!

No idea what we are eating - son #3 is cooking the main course, and son #2 the pudding. We shall be providing a range of wines to cover most eventualities, though I shall have to drive home so I won't be drinking any .

I am remarkably organised this year. All presents bought and wrapped, stocking stuffers for the grandkids all bought too. The food for the rest of the week will be delivered on Tuesday, so I don't have to do battle at the supermarket. We decorated the tree on Thursday.
I'm making a Christmas Log with #1 grandson tomorrow. Trip to the physio on Tuesday and I am done .

Something is bound to go wrong.

I'm heading across the road for my Christmas lunch - everything was arranged before the lady of the house went into hospital in September.

We are making it as normal as possible for the grandchildren - though there will be a big gap at the table. Since my husband died I've been there every year - this year I'm taking a huge tin of good choccie biccies , a nice Panettone for the adults and the wine As usual the men are cooking

Pressies are wrapped and additions to various bank accounts have been made.

It's been a very very expensive month - Car tax , Insurance and now the annual Service !! Going to have to do something about all that before next year
let the education continue
