Honesty's working as a maths teacher at a school in Lancaster, the kids don't know what's hit them!

Beer time....

Well Done again Honesty! Don't let the little blighters get you down.

I am ashamed to say that my class at grammar school was responsible for a young woman Maths teacher, who had the added misfortune of being our form mistress, leaving teaching for ever after trying to drum quadratic equations into us. She was a lousy teacher to start with and a bunch of 40 bloodthirsty adolescents went for the jugular.
It also partly explains why am so useless at maths.

Finally finished watching all three seasons of Boardwalk Empire last night.

Now I've just remembered that I didn't take any meat out of the freezer for tea this evening (better take the back roads home and look for road kill).

Sent our passports off for renewal last week. It has taken a week just for them to be delivered to Durham .
If I am lucky we will have new ones in February, given the Christmas/New Year break that inevitably will impact on it.
Was a time when I could send them off on Monday to Amsterdam and have them back on Friday.
Now I have to fill in forms on the computer, print them sign them pay a Kings ransom up front, pay another Kings ransom in postage and then wait for several months before I get them back. Trapped here in the meantime.
Such is progress I suppose.

Only positive from the whole thing is that we didn't have to find a counter-signatory for the photos. At least not yet, I fully expect that to delay the applications even longer.

Rant over. Must be these short miserable dark days getting to me, especially knowing can't escape them.

I hope as ours done fairly fast, but somehow I doubt it. We are in a bit of a dodgy position really, living abroad with no passport for weeks.
As I say it was so much easier (and cheaper!) all round when we could just send them to Amsterdam for renewal.

Nice to see some Pentax photos in the 'Portfolio' section in the latest DSLR Photography magazine, by Derek Kind. Is it just me that looks out for Pentax in these places, and is usually disappointed?

I haven't bought a photography magazine in years. They just seem to recycle the same old ideas, year on year, with each magazine having much the same as the next.

How's the weather where you are?

Rainy and cold.

I don't usually buy magazines of any kind, but I keep getting special offers. This one is a trial of three issues for a pound, and if I forget to cancel it rolls over into a proper subscription. So I don't forget.

Hi All,
Just popped by to see what is happening since I moved away from Pentax. I was surprised that this thread is still going.

Hope you all have a good Christmas and a happy new year.

Nice to see youy CoDa, seasons greetings to you also.

My new 'kit bike' bit back yesterday!

After a week of trying to remove a bit it finally came off...

...result was a trip to A&E with a damaged eye, on the bright side I can't drive for 7-10 days so no work.

Seems that a fast moving object can damage the cornea...

Was the fast moving object a left hook from Mrs HG as a result of you spending so much time in the shed

Seasons greetings Coda
