True, but beware of the snap-crackle-pop if you have it in a mug with a gold rim.

Watch out - Christmas is coming. The glossy mags seem to be full of ads for fancy watches in the weeks running up to Christmas. I noticed that one weekend newspaper had a 28 page supplement all about the world's most exclusive watches. I only gave it a quick skim, but couldn't see anything under one thousand pounds, and one model was priced at £157,590.oo
Who buys these multi-thousand quid wrist ornaments and why? Nobody I know would be impressed if they saw an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph on my wrist - they would think it a cheap Oriental import, and probably could not spell the full name anyway.

He parked his caravan next to mine at Robin Hoods bay this weekend. Strange how you meet up again, not seen him for ages.

He was dressing up again as a steampunk at Whitby. Looks very healthy. Said he might pop onto the forum again.

That's good to hear Dave, I should be surprised we didn't bump into each other on Saturday, but there were that many tourists...

I'm back .

Yes I took the wrong lens. The one I took will be sold shortly, though not on here - I wouldn't do that to a fellow forum member.

Dog is poorly. We picked him up yesterday from the kennels as he was unwell. Poor thing, looks miserable.

No it isn't really duff. It is a 17-70 and an early one with low light focussing problems. I have lived with it for years, and accepted it as is, since it is basically a great lens, but the time has come for it to move on, along with a few other lenses. I don't want to take lots of lenses when I travel, and I think the 18-135 (or possibly the new 16-85) wouls suit me better nowadays. I am not going to sell photos, and most shots when travelling are just holiday snaps so the 18-135 is good enough.

Now back to pointlessness, before I get thrown out.
