Yeah backups are ok. I'm not sure about how LR stores it's modification info. But enough photo talk for this thread

The network drive at home died before Xmas..

....no photos on it, but I did loose all my films/TV series/music that were on it...

.....good job I still have all the original DVDs, just takes for ever to rip them all again.

Had to do a factory reset on the Sky box. Didn't lose anything important and most of the series we record had ended. It seems strange looking at the menu now and seeing 80% + available

We tried, unsuccessfully, to rescue the photos of my son's father-in-law. He stored all his photos on a single external hard-drive. Didn't keep them on the computer at all, nor did he back them up elsewhere. Lost the lot.
He even paid a forensic guy to try and retrieve them. No luck, just a lot of euros lighter.

All our TV programmes are recorded in the cloud with our current provider, so when our set top box packed up we didn't lose anything. Since we got two boxes with the contract we didn't even miss any TV waiting for a replacement.

Very sadly, it's raining in Lanzarote. And we barely got a few sailing hours in today.

So we're having to sit in our 6 bed villa with nothing to do but eat, drink and talk.

It's a hard life.

Poor you Gareth. never mind 18C can't be bad, and it won't rain all the time.
What is Lanzagrotty like? I've never been. We always go to La Palma, but Lanzarote is a tad cheaper so I have been considering it.

We would have been on La Palma now if it weren't for family gatherings taking the La Palma pot .

I managed to borrow a 10-20mm lens for the weekend, looking forward to trying it out.
Nice not to have to buy one to play with it...
Cheers,
