Another pointless thread

I'm getting ready to celebrate page 1100 of this thread. Trouble is I don't drink alcohol any more, so my celebration is likely to be somewhat muted.

I`m sure there are enough folk on here that can suffer a wee drink on your behalf. Purely for celebration purposes that is.

Seconded.

And the aniversaries were our 30th and our friends 25th, the birthdays were theirs and Mrs HG, all being in August or September...

...... I'm the odd one out, my birthday's in March!

Just to cheer Barrie up, it has just started raining here in Honningsvåg.
We had more aurora last night. His Nibs took some good photos. I just enjoyed the show I'm afraid. Still he uses a Pentax too, so maybe I can post some when we get home.

Beer on board btw is 66Krone. The prices for booze are only a bit higher than in a restaurant in Norway in my experience.

Unless I'm getting it wrong 66 Krone is about £7.40!!!! Very depressing

That's about right Barrie. The good news is you can buy duty free to drink in your cabin. If you buy the coffee mug you can always add your own "coffee" to it to enjoy elsewhere.

Norway is not a cheap country, and booze is especially expensive. The scenery makes up for it though. Well, maybe.

That's all part of staying outside the EU!

That and good living standards...

I now know why, when we had a works European get together in the UK, the Scandinavians got totally blitzed

A group of us from work (Ransomes Sims & Jeffries)trolled over to Southern Norway way back in 1978. Our hosts were well chuffed with the donated duty free that we all took in. Don`t know why the visit was classed as work but never mind.
Enjoy life

I take it we no longer celebrate centenary pages with wild aplomb and are saving it all for the next millennium?

wild aplomb..... is that a type of brandy?
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

Oh go on then, I'll break the bank and have a glass of wine tonight to celebrate 1110 pages. A glass of the boat red to wash down my Rudolf steak.

Heading south again now, well first north and west, then south to ne accurate about it.
