Another pointless thread

Had the old Enfield out yesterday. One firing stroke every lamp post.

Rain threatened today so it was the car. 10 years old and still under 7000kms on the clock. It`s great fun to ride and turns all the old boys heads when they hear it. Can almost see a glimmer of recognition come over them.

That'll be an Enfield India then?

Many years ago I had the chance of a Royal Enfield Bullet 350..

...I couldn't afford the £50 the seller wanted..

..... and it needed new tyres, so I passed.

Twelve months later I got a brand new T140V Bonneville instead.

Lovely to ride....

......when it as running!

Has this thread become teetotal? Surely someone is drinking something?

(Personally I'm having a nice cup of tea).

Enfield India it is. Bullet 65, 500cc of vibrating ironmongery. Bought it new in 2003. I wanted GSX 750 until - my son came past me on a GSXR600 and made it look like I was stationary and I really really wasn`t. He parked in a layby and I eventually caught up where he threw the keys over with "Give this a try Dad." The sudden realisation that his Dad`s reactions were not what they were and the moment passed.

So the Bullet 65, magic black paint job, chrome mudguards, Avon boots, Amal carbatooter and sports blowzaust. Slow enough to watch the world going by and fast enough for the A14. A few other nice bits from Mr Hitchcock and it`s going strong. It`s the fun of riding and being able to mess around with plugs, points and valve clearances and it helped the Indian economy. Same tooling that was in Redditch in the 40`s unlike the newer Enfields that have succumbed to modern emissions and stuff. Oops better stop now. This just isn`t pointless!!!!

Gareth! how can you say such a thing. Just `cos no one has mentioned alcohol doesn`t mean a jump in tea bags sales.

Me, I`m letting me tea go down then some Grouse. Got to keep a little coherent as me new sister is due on the old dog & bone.

Been on the wagon for a few days now.

It is Mother's Day here on Sunday, and since no-one else will treat me I have bought myself a bottle of pink fizz to drink then. Rather have that than chocolates anyway (she lied :lol.

Just watched the game

How did it go - not well

Lost by 11 points the other side had 14 points allowed they should not have been- the commentators say this not just me

Even my Dad, an ex rugby player from the 60's was amazed at the ref's bias and believe me he is the last person to criticise a ref

However, I taught my 9 year old son a song about the ref I am not proud of oops

I reckon I may pay for the 'song'

Been celebrating Mother's Day. Not that I saw any of my kids but at least this year they all WhatApped me. Enjoyed fresh asparagus, and roast chicken, even if I had to cook it myself.

Had pink fizz earlier, with brunch.
