Happy Starts Wars Day!

May the fourth be with you.

Watch for the revenge of the fifth though.

My second sat nav from the pipers son died yesterday and it was only 11 months old. Made an investment to the Garmin coffers today at least they have a sensible interface to work with.

Rant over - now for me supper. Another Grouse!!!

I'd be sending it back. I'd have thought you'd have a case for a TomTom lasting at least five years.

Remember the SOG act says things must last a reasonable length of time.

My 'Sat Nag' got upgraded for use in the car - she has given up reading maps or directions and uses an 'app' on her smart phone instead
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

I'd be sending that sat nav back too Cedric. It must still be under guarantee quite apart from the SOG act. You'd send your camera back if it packed up after 11 months, so why not your sat nav?

My car has it built in, but I rarely use it. I like real maps, and finding quirky, interesting routes.

What's a sat nav?

We have a sit nav...

.....I sit and navigate!

.................and it's coming up to 'let's visit France' time again, only 5 weeks to go

On the down side that's only one pay day to go as well!
Cheers, HG

K110+DA40, K200+DA35, K3 and a bag of lenses, bodies and other bits.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

I bought it from Comet - so out of luck there. Most forums I viewed reckon that model is a "Brick" contacted Tom Tom via e mail but to be quite honest it`s c..p compared to the previous one so I`m not over fussed. I think sat navs have the shortest life of any tech. Anyway, I have a Garmin now which has much better mapping.

You are still covered, even though Comet is gone. You still have a case with TomTom but it's a harder fight.

TomTom will probably replace or repair it and you could then sell it on if you don't want it.

Did you buy it on a credit card? If you did then let them know. They are also responsible so you have a case if it cost more than £100.

I just got my K-x that I bought from Comet repaired under the 5 year warranty I took out when I bought it in 2011. It developed a cloudy viewfinder and also an electrical fault that made it overheat when in use. The 5 year Guarantee was supplied by a third party. The whole of the gubbins inside my K-x has been replaced and it is now good as new!

Cheers

Had an e mail from Tom Tom support. They seem to think there is a hardware problem. Be interesting to see how things pan out.

The great Ray Harryhausen has passed away.

Jason and the Argonauts is still one of the greatest films ever made.

A sad loss.

A great visionary has passed. What a legacy he helped to build though.
