"Cannot Display Image" - pls help

Can't say what your problem is but the camera looks to be suffering badly from dust on the sensor suggesting the camera has been left without a lens or body cap in situ. It would seem to require a good overhaul. I wouldn't think it is a memory card fault, more likely the shutter getting stuck ha...

Ricoh GR plus GV-1 viewfinder

Great deal on the Ricoh GR and GV-1 viewfinder at SRS Microsystems, £649 the pair, with the camera selling for £599 everywhere that equates to a nice £100 discount off the excellent GV-1 viewfinder (normally £149). http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/9450/Ricoh-GR-Compact-Camera-with-GV-1-Viewfinder...

Clifton Cameras GXR sale

Looks like a firesale, extraordinary bargain. I remember reading about this new idea when it came out, most unusual. It was marketed with the message that the sensors were 'optimised' for the individual lenses, being combined in a sealed unit, a supposed advantage over an inter-changable lens system...

Clifton Cameras GXR sale

The sealed units were obviously good for dust issues, although I'm not sure now if people generally have problems with DSLR snesor dust? I havn't found any problems in over 2 years so far - I routinely activate the sensor shake dust removal tool, and keep the camera pointed down when the lens is off...

Clifton Cameras GXR sale

Although the sensors in the Ricoh GXR camera units are not the most modern they are still well regarded. The M mount unit has the only sensor specially designed for use with rangefinder lenses apart from the sensors in the Leica M cameras. Indeed Sean Reid in a review of the new Leica T claimed that...

K-3, Flucard and BG5 grip bundle only £939 at SRS

[quote:3496ace15f="Mike-P"] In many ways I prefer Wings and Wheels at Dunsfold, cos we fly in. Much less stressful.. Yes, great place for flying photos - the flight line curves and the planes follow it, so the best place is west of the control tower as they are doing slight wingovers to port and...

MX-1 with Tripod 8GB Card and Case 225 Euros Delivered

Mine arrived today and it's worth mentioning two things: the instructions are in French only and the mains lead to the charger has a European plug. Yes, mine came, too, from Amazon.fr -- I say 'mine', but I ordered it for my daughter and so reluctantly I'll be passing it along. Only the quick start...

MX-1 with Tripod 8GB Card and Case 225 Euros Delivered

Just had a little play, the IQ is amazing for the sensor size, nice feel, thinking about printing out the manual for its new owner.

MX-1 £189

I can't get over how much improved modern compact cameras are. I wrung the neck out of mine in Majorca, taking no other camera, and it never let me down. Lots of detail and the dynamic range is far wider than a small sensor ought to be. It's like the laws of optical physics have been rewritten. A...

Pentax AF-540 FGZ Flashgun

Just ordered now! Great price. Sure its the old model, but I've been considering the Metz options such as 52/58, but like the physical controls more on the Pentax. Also to note is that it offers auto flash control for older lenses through the front sensor, as the Metz units do, but the new updated P...

Pentax Sensor Cleaning Kit O-ICK1

I just found this discounted at Microglobe after searching on Amazon, for £28.99 including postage. I made a purchase and it all seems fine. Delivery expected in 2 days. I've been reading through a few forum threads about sensor cleaning. Clearly there's different opinions on the techniques...

Pentax Sensor Cleaning Kit O-ICK1

I bought a "genuine" Pentax lens cap for DA 35mm Limited from that lot, looked the part, the part number was right and it did not fit, fits all my other 49mm filter thread lenses though:roll:

Pentax Sensor Cleaning Kit O-ICK1

I'd watch it though. I had one and when I eventually got round to using it, the sticky stuff had perished or whatever and this thing left lots of little globby bits of rubber on the sensor. And no, I didn't rub the sensor with it. Took a good wet clean to get all the crap off. A flawed concept, IMO.

Lens cleaning wipes in Lidl

W5 is Lidl's own brand and they usually have the wipes. If not we buy the ones Home Bargains have boxed for them. Much better than regular lens cloths which once used are pretty suspect.
