More from the hip
What an unusual and effective set, Tim. I really must have a go at street photography again. The performance of that sensor is unbelievable, Tim. That's been the most notable improvement in recent years, hasn't it?

More from the hip
Thanks folks! The traffic warden is probably my favourite as well, i had just walked around the corner and there they were! On my left side though, so I had to spin around to take the shot, I think that's what she's looking at. Andrew - the sensor is certainly impressive, an easy 2 stop advan...

Simply Red Sheffield Arena
Great shots Gary especially at 1250iso on a K20D/GX-20 sensor. The first one is a classic.... I'm not sure about the 2nd with it being off centre?

A Very Merry Christmas (in red) @ 600mm
Now, who was saying that Pentax doesn't produce any long lenses? Were I in the market for 600mm (and I'm not), then 250-600 would seem to be a very much more usable and flexible proposition than a 600mm prime. G Hi George, The unfortunate fact is that this lens is no longer in production. ...

just before the white out
I like the juxtaposition of the colours angainst the grey, but I think I'd crop the left hand bench out. That would also remove the large blob from your dirty sensor:wink:

just before the white out
Hi Geordie We all have different tastes and to me I liked the off-centre feel that cropping to the huts loses. Hope you do not mind - I have cropped it so you can see what I mean - and cloned out your sensor spot and tweaked the exposure a little - see what you think regards Carl

Snow pattern
I love it....although I am also very jealous. I had an oppurtunity to get a similar shot on Sunday. But SWMBO insisted I finish cleaning the bathroom first. By the time I'd finished the light had gone. Now the snow has gone :( :( :(

Southend Beach
Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. Firstly want to say that Southend is much more interesting photographically on a day like this than in the sunshine. Gareth, hello and thanks for the work you done on my pics. Not sure that I agree they all look better in mono but interesting to see t...

Solar eclipse this morning
Managed to grab a few quick shots of the eclipse this morning, it was a little cloudy but that may have actually helped reduce the brightness a bit. As it was these were taken at 300mm, f45, 1/8000s, ISO 80 Plus one that shows my K5 sensor stains :D (That's a 'real world' shot for all ...

Solar eclipse this morning
I'm glad someone got some shots! It was too cloudy to even try here. Now of course we have blue sky . I can't see your sensor problem but that is probably my screen (on the netbook!)

JLS Motorpoint Arena Sheffield
Terrific set Gary. Great results from that Samsung sensor. I like the first 'Nazi salute' one best, but they're all great! (They didn't win X-factor btw!)

just throwing one out there...
Very unusual and surreal. Nice to see something so carefully staged and well executed. Mixed lighting is hard to get right and render convincingly. Don, does the 16-45 make a good partner for the K10? Not that I suffer from LBA or anything (!) but I'm interested in squeezing the best out of that ...

Freezing, dark and about to Snow...
Hmm, well I got a K5:D That said I spent the short time I've had with it learning the Sensor and have ended up quite enjoying it! It's harder to get good exposures than with the plethora of Nikons I'm used to but for all that very rewarding when you do! I need a Kr for other things, I'm unemployed ...

Kingdom of Rust
I'm not happy with some of these. Odd, because they all looked fine originally but some are clearly substandard either through poor focus or camera shake or both. I think I'm trying to wring the most out of the K10's sensor by shooting at low ISO (too low) with small apertures (too small). ...I fin...

Why a 50-135 SDM is better than a 16-50 SDM
Consider the mechanics. A true pro-class zoom should keep constant length whilst zooming. The inherent weakness of the alternative is illustrated below. For all the drops and knocks my kit has taken, including dropping the K7 with the 50-135 which bounced several times on cobbles and suffered no ...
