Body Comparison

Strange, but I do prefer the way the istD renders the colours, they appear to be the most natural and warm. You would assume the the more modern the sensor the better the colour handling, but to me this appears the reverse. :D

More Moon Shots

Nice pics, not super sharp, but impressive magnification. Does your 'scope track the heavenly bodies, or is it totally manual? There also seem to be an awful lot of little grey/black dots, particularly in the bottom left of the last pic. Is this space debris, or does your sensor need a clean?

A few through the window

Thanks for the kind words Mark! Now that you mention it I can indeed see the sensor blotch on the last shot. I had already removed a couple of them! It's quite hard to tell what is sensor dirt and what is just a blob on the filthy window :D

Ses Salinas, Salt Pans

Ahhh rust and decay! Back to your favourite themes! Really nice set overall. I think I like the doorsteps best... I think. :D BTW, your sensor needs a clean. ;) Best wishes, Kris,

Ses Salinas, Salt Pans

Thanks everyone. Yes, back to type, I'm afraid. The sensor is FILTHY, Kris. I'm careful with blower brush and only changing lenses indoors etc. but cloning each picture takes ages. And then I still miss some spots. I'm scared to death of poking about inside the "film" chamber/ lens throat...

Ses Salinas, Salt Pans

Buy yourself an arctic butterfly. Does the job a treat and you'd have to be even more cack-handed than me (unlikely) to damage anything. I have the aptly named Pentax cleaning kit, the O-ICK1. :D K.

Ses Salinas, Salt Pans

Great set! I think I like the steps best too (like a few others here). I feel like you, Andrew, when it comes to sensor cleaning and have tended in the past to use the spot healer in post process... That said, with the K-7 the dust removal seems a lot more effective than the mechanism in the K10D an...

Bank Holiday Seedathon

IQ of K10D

K10/K200 sensor. Still my favourite, I think. There have been so many great pictures on this site taken with it. Any one know where I can buy a little used one for very little money? Super pictures. I love the subtle hues and shallow depth of field. Nice work. Regards, Andrew

Final Few from North Wales

Of course, Roger. We praise the lens, the sensor, the quality of light, even, on occasions the photographer, but forget Who pulls the whole thing together! There's actually no need for the ferns to look as lovely as that! Regards, Andrew

Rose cottage

Sensor really pushed to the limit in this one: look at the dynamic range between those cloud highlights and the bushes! Lovely spot. Devon's a very special county. Regards, Andrew

Brass Player

From a trip to Kenilworth Castle. The enactment of QE1 arriving there. Spotted this player "cleaning out the pipe" i presume. Any thoughts?

Gandhi

I don't know whether to impressed by the way the K20's sensor has rendered the complex tones in such a beautiful way that it matches a top class, fine grain film, or to admire the way that carefully exposed celluloid and silver halide and an iconic lens can still give modern technology a run for its...

Sharp

Lovely shot of a teazel. They are the origin of the phrase "to tease something out" as they were used for cleaning up raw wool. Best wishes, Kris.

.... said the bells of St Clement's.

So compact cameras need at least 12mp sensor to be any use then? Yeah, right.

Gallions reach Wreckie No2

Extraordinary! What got into you today girl? Another excellent set: tight, careully observed and well framed. The usual effective conversion. There's a gritty, HP5 look about these which with the K20's super slick and smooth sensor is unusual. These would make top notch prints if you could fi...

Barrington Court, Somt. Inside and Out

I like the Statue and the two bath-room shots Andrew. The statue may have some marks showing against the blue sky - may be junk on your sensor?

Invertebrate Quiz...

Hello all. Nice day today and I was in the Garden of Ham House snapping away. Was mainly looking for bugs and got a few macro shots, including these three... Not necessarily the best shots but I was wondering if anyone out there knows their bugs well enough to be able to say what these are:?: Fir...
