K7 Vs Kx?
The K200D beats the K-7 in the same tests - except for colour depth where it is about equal. I KNOW that the K-7 has better image quality and low ISO performance than the K200D so I am not sure what is going on there. From what I've seen that's not true, the K200D has better low iso performance than...

K7 Vs Kx?
Stefan, maybe someone here may notice if the dynamic range on the K7 has been improved since being updated, like you mentioned? Did not say that anywhere? From what I've seen that's not true, the K200D has better low iso performance than the K7 and the K7 has better low iso performance th...

K7 Vs Kx?
It's here Stefan, last post in the thread. I stand corrected, lets hope some will. It's the same sensor as the K20D so I dont see any reason why it shouldn't be able to preform the same. :?

K7 Vs Kx?
Its good to know its the same sensor then. I hope it has been improved.

K7 Vs Kx?
It's the same sensor as the K20D so I dont see any reason why it shouldn't be able to preform the same. :? It is not exactly the same sensor. The K-7 sensor has been "tweaked" differently, so the results are not exactly the same. And the image processor is different too.

K7 Vs Kx?
Yves that's true but like you said "tweaked" so the sensor should be capable of getting results that are almost the same as the K20D, it's just strange it performs even slightly worse but the firmware upgrade seems to did something so lets hope it performs on par now.

iPhone Photography
Guys I don't own an iPhone, but don't be so quick to knock it... I know the lens and the sensor isn't the best, but I have seen some utterly STUNNING photography come from an iPhone. The best camera anyone has is the one they have with them..... Check out Chase Jarvis and his iPhone work fo...

Super Software
Well I have to say thank you Jack. My PC had started to run a little slow, I was convinced I had some spyware and other problems and was gearing myself up to do a full format and reinstal of the OS, so I felt I had nothing to loose by trying this software. My PC is now running a lot faster tha...

Are these really that expensive!
Slight error in the above post- Mars bars went from 3 1/2p to 4p in March 1974! I remember because i found a place selling them at the old price and bought 26 of them thinking that they would last months, In fact i ate the lot in one week-end and never touched another for many years afterwards!!!:mr...

Are these really that expensive!
Hi John, I don`t think 5p is far off the mark, You would be surprised at how very little things cost to manufacture, As you say, Most of the price we pay is down to set up costs and distribution, Plus of course everyone down the line must take a cut of the profit along with Taxes and import duty. Na...

Fed up!!
Ron, For your perusal produced for two different projects. First one was a self portrait shot through a beetroot juice filter illuminated by a torch. Second was produced by a pinhole camera experiment, I just liked the colour and the shapes. Both from the GX10 10megapixel sensor ...

Much better than looking at
Much better than looking at a selection of memory cards. Once the market is saturated with cheap DSLR's and sales drop, what's the odds on manufacturers bringing out hybrid SLR's? The sensor in the head that saves the image milliseconds before the mirror lifts and the shutter opens to expose...

Descrete Camera bag

CVS processing
It puts dust on the sensor into perspective I guess. There are a few things that might help. Before scanning, carefully clean the negatives. I use a microfibre cloth these days. The second line of attack is to use a scanner with DigitalICE, which very effectively removes scratches and dust ma...

CVS processing
I have some PEC-12 and some cleaning tissues so I'll give it a wipe over and try again. My Minolta scanner has "dust removal" but not DigitalICE so I'll have to go with what I have. What is annoying is that these are fresh out of the sleeves and they are in worse condition than my 30 year old ...

Farewell to Pentax
I've done the same. I've sold all my Pentax kit and spent about £7K on Nikon, based around the D700. The reasons: 1. A far superior sensor with performance at 1600iso roughly equal to the K-7 at 200iso. I didn't take anyone's word for this but went to where they test such things. 2. Much be...

Farewell to Pentax
What are you trying to show with this? It would appear that it just illustrates the different sensor sizes on a range of cameras and is derived from the same image taken on any camera, just resized in Photoshop. Each image is identical in framing and DOF, which is not an accurate representation of a...

Farewell to Pentax
I agree Mike, it's down to enlarging the narrower FOV to bring it up to a "normal viewing size. Hence the 1:1 statement. I may have said this before when discussed, changing a sensor size behind a 200mm (or any other size) lens, does not change the focal length or magnification factor of that len...
