Putting to one side the effect of the rush to stockpile food from the supermarket, I do understand that during times of stress and uncertainty why people may wish to stock up on eggs, pasta, rice etc. But who is stockpiling lettuce ? On a positive note, I was (tasked with) cleaning some of the k...

The food's good and delivery times short, their depot is literaly just over the hill from us. They're called Delifresh, google for more info. Right, that's the fr...

We were victims of a drive-by cleaning today. Arrived home to find the windows had all been cleaned (not too well). Apparently they got the wrong house :D

Oh dear :(. Was it a big bang - sprouts stuck to the ceiling, bits of parsnip decorating the windows, fairy blown off the top of the tree by the force of the explosion?? :o Steve Decades ago, I left a tin of baked beans heating in a pan of water but forgot what I had done - took quite a time to c...

Needless tosay I dug it all out and have had many recent hours lost cleaning and playing... A friend of mine did the same a few years ago. You must be the same age as him :) Do you watch 'Hornby, A Model World' on Yesterday channel? On UKTVPlay if you've missed it. It's great. They are clear...

So what will I miss?
I'd leave the primes at home and take the 16-45 or 24-90, one good lens with a good range is a lot easier IMO. It also saves lens changes, reducing the chance of dirt getting onto the sensor. I'm with Mikew on the tripod, do you really need it? If the answer is no leave it at home.

I've just found out what my bonus is. I need spending ideas!
Don't spend it all at once ! I'd agree with Mike here, try a prime & you may end up "making do" with your old wardrobe in order to buy more primes ! I also had the Sigma 30mm on Pentax & it is wonderful, the rendering is just something special & it's incredibly sharp. Mine did need a slight focu...

April fool?
 It would have been more believable if they said a square sensor.

I'll keep my eye open for a camera with a circular sensor - makes...er...sense!!!

Womble uses film......common sense really.
The upscaling by 400% is done by computer program. So a human has created a way of zooming in and linking the dots by some kind of set of rules. This is an approximation it creates artefacts and is not likely to be kind on curves. There is an argument to say that the FF sensor in a Leica is not...

Here is a read on Luminous Landscape with a FF camera and the Pentax 6x7 but that was 7 years ago The sensor certainly has improved a bit so I think it's better to spend your money on that than on a drum-scanner, you should even be able to buy a 645D or two for that money

Car woes
As Mike-P says, take out the "human element" and I've heard of worse cars. A Rover 200 owned by one of my own colleagues, for example, which had had two new engines inside 60,000 miles. A first generation Mondeo owned from new by a friend's dad, which required new engine mounts before it neede...

Car woes
a 2002 Passat 1.9 TDI (mine). None of them have required more than the normal scheduled services I guess it comes down to proper maintenance :) Might I tactfully recommend getting rid of it soon then! My 2001 A6 TDI (mechanically similar and well maintained by my local specialist) has had th...
