lens cleaning
The first rule of cleaning lenses is don't. At least, unless absolutely necessary. Personally I would not use spectacle cleaning wipes because they are impregnated and may have an adverse effect on the lens coatings. I use the Pentax microfibre cleaning cloth and this seems to be totally satis...

Sony announces FF sensor!
Yes, but it will probably be stuck in a camera that will not satisfy the needs of a professional (the target audience of the product) and therefore not sell well. 25mp; who cares. The mb those images take up is going to be idiotic, and im sure those looking at full frame cameras will be looking ...

Sensor cleaning - again!
I know that the arctic butterfly system comes well recommended but it seems to charge the brush by blowing air through the 'bristles'. Anyone seen this http://shashinki.com/shop/copperhill-sensorsweep-antistatic-sensor-cleaning-brush-p-273.html?osCsid=52387e58cd46352aaf554a6181fb2cae&curre...

Sensor cleaning - again!
No, the Arctic Butterfly uses vibration rather than air to charge the brush. It is expensive to buy, but you don't have to spend any money on compressed air/gas. It just works off a battery. The vibration also acts to clean the brush after use by shaking dust off. Not 100% perfectly effective ...

Sensor cleaning - again!
Actually the Arctic Butterfly spins very quickly to get the bristles charged. Indeed it isn't cheap but it is worth every cent. I have the butterfly and a rocket blower which keeps my sensor clean without the need of chemical solvents and/or compressed gas, so it is both easier to use and better ...

Sensor cleaning - again!
Thanks guys. I am a bit suspicious of the arctic butterfly as the spinning is apparently used to eject the dust and charge it so it attracts dust - but that said you can't argue with success and loads of epople recommend them. My understanding of the copperhill method is that blowing air through ...
