Hello Ladies...
You can pick up replacement focus screens on ebay now and again. I doubt you'll be able to clean them as they scratch very easily. See Bojidar's website for the part numbers. Cheers, Kris.

Reviews for Pentax 75-300
I'm not sure which lens you've seen as Pentax have made several over the years with a similar focal range and slightly different features; none of them were white as far as I know, but two of them were available in silver so I'm guessing it's one of those you saw. They are: Pentax FAJ 75-300mm f/...

Reviews for Pentax 75-300
The lens was definitely 75-300 so looks like it's the FAJ Wwe're talking about. Do you know where I can find any reviews of it? Full technical specs here: User reviews here: Photo gallery here: The M* 300 prime sounds fine as well. I've got about £500 to spend - is there an AF for tha...

KX blues
I recently saw an advert for a KX with a K-series 55m lens (not ebay for a change). As the price was reasonable and the description not too bad I sent off my cheque. My initial reaction when I opened the parcel was "yuck, it's filthy". Then I tried to focus the lens, and it fell off the camera. ...

KX blues
How much do you want for the pieces of K55? It is all going back to the man who sent it to me, once his cheque clears of course! I am glad to say that most of the time things work out. The K series 135mm seems to be fine, and the SPII seems great too. BTW hefty, how do you attach a filter to th...

KX blues
As for filters on the 43; the lens hood screws on to the filter thread (49mm). If you've got a filter with threads both sides you can sandwich it between lens and hood, if it's only got threads on the back (like most polarisers) then you have to use it hoodless, or get an oversized 3rd party hood th...

Easy fix? Pentax MZ-3 mirror gear
mattie - if you don't do a deal with John - I'd recommend getting a quote from the likes of Harrow or any other Pentax specialist repairers. The MZ3 isn't a common body and it's still worth a few quid - not in the league of the MZS true but of the other MZ versions, it probably fetches the most on ...

Easy fix? Pentax MZ-3 mirror gear
I can back you up in the sense that I do not have any MZ-3s in my database! It is, however, the highest spec MZ short of the MZ-S. I would heartily recommend Harrow Technical who have done sterling work in my ME-F and LX and will shortly be getting an ME Super and an MX to service. Your local cam...

LX FC-1 viewfinder problem
I just remembered a suggestion I read somewhere in the week; to speed up the UV saturation cover one end of a lens (finder in this case) in tin foil and leave the other end exposed to the Sun - the UV light will bounce off the foil and reflect back so concentrating the exposure. Not tried that mysel...

Yesterday, and I was a little nervous. I'm talking about developing film in the darkroom, of course. I had a friend from the Photog society explaining again the procedure, but I did everything by myself. It went ok... Unfortunately there were a few glitches. The practice runs of getting the fil...

If the water mark is on the back of the film you can breath on it and wipe it off with a hanky ( NOT one you use to blow your nose on !)

Pentax auto 110
I am waiting for the 110 digital conversion kit to go into production :!: Looked into that, conversion was not possible, mainly due to the thickness of a sensor which puts the focus plane out!! Now, a replacement back to the camera, that is possible! A miniature 4/3 camera! I got my past 110 fil...

Pentax MX
Good choice! :) They're all-mechanical cameras so at least there are no electronic gubbins to go wrong (except the meter of course - see below). Like a mechanical watch the chances are it'll either work or it won't! Things to test are: Check the shutter fires at all speeds. It's pretty much...

Pentax MX
The light seals around the back door and the mirror box will almost certainly be corroded (the foam turns into a nasty black gunk which can get on everything). Once again this is an easy DIY job to replace so don't let it put you off. Check out . A lot of people on here swear by his kits, heck I...

Pentax MX
People have covered the main things. You can check the timer and DOF preview, its the little lever on the left (facing the camera front). Push it down and actuate the shutter, you'll ear a buzz, the lever moves and the shutter fires. On the hairline crack... I'm still wondering how a perfectly ...

Pentax MX
The Motor Drive is faster, but much bulkier and also very rare and expensive. Then there's the 250 exposure back and by the time you've shot through that at 5fps you've used a lot of film and it's cost even more money. It makes you realise one of the great advantages of digital photography.
