It's an excellent beast but I find you have to nail the focus point with some precision, otherwise it will choose something else nearby and leave you with a very slightly OOF image.

Well personally I think you should contact the insurance company and tell them you found one for half the amount that they paid out. Also, seeing as you kept the insured one and it has come back to life I feel you should send back say 65% of the insurance payout ... just for peace of mind :D Wel...

Does it take photos, or how badly is it damaged ??? Took this with it last week.. It has no focus points in the viewfinder and the battery drains flat if left in overnight. Need to find someone who can repair it properly..

It's not hard to DIY it, the main issue is disassembling components that have been stuck together for years and years. From then it's a matter of keeping the various surfaces clean, ...
