Hello from Norfolk UK.
Welcome, PJN, from somewhere just a little way south of Norfolk (missus and I had a very nice short break in Norwich last month). Only 2 days to wait until you can get your K3 out of the box! romi: also welcome to the forum. I too began "Pentaxing" with a 35mm Spotmatic half a lifetime ago. It is...

Back to Pentax after many years away
I've recently signed up here so firstly Hi and a happy new year to everyone. My first decent camera was a brand new black Pentax S1a bought many years ago and exposure was judged using the recommendations included with the film until I got a Weston meter - bit different from todays digital camera...

Can I ask for some help please
Good advice above :D I use a few manual lenses - they work well with the K10d - remember to set the af on the switch next to the lens to mf other wise the shutter will not fire unless the camera's central af point is in focus as such :D Regards Stu

Hello
Hello! OK I'll be straight with you - I only actually joined the forum because I'd seen a lens I really wanted in the classified ads section. But in my defence, I had been reading the forums for a while - especially the user photos, and I am here introducing myself now! So I'm fairly new to th...

Trashy P is here!
Hi All, just a brief intro - i'm a graphic design industry professional - advertising mainly - I came to pentax during my art college years, where pentax were the weapon of choice due to their tank-like construction. I once had my own dark room at home and would develop and print my own photos. ...

Its been a long time
Hi, Another newbie here, looks a great forum... My last Pentax was a K1000 c 30 years ago, great camera which got stolen. Replaced it with an Olympus OM1 which was cheaper and stayed with me for 20 years. Failing eyesight required a change to the autofocus systems and became a Canon user until...

Its been a long time
Pete - Welcome. I also have the DA 18-135WR which lives on the camera and is my walkabout lens - nice and sharp and quick focus. I have the Sigma 10-20, and I agree with Bill - it is quite hefty, but I love the images I get from it. If I want something lighter I have a very old Vivitar 28mm F2....

Its been a long time
Hi Pete I'm pretty much a newbie around these parts too but i'd like to offer a different suggestion. My second lens purchase was a Sigma 105mm EX, here's why I think its a great addition to the kit lens 1. Outstanding Macro 2. Takes lovely portraits(from a respectable distance!) 3. Nearl...

Hello world! From Almada, Portugal.
There is one thing that is definitely bothering me: Is the lenses focusing noise through screw-drive (for non-sdm or equivalent) that loud? Half-Click -> bzzzzzzzzzz -> not already in focus -> another bzzzz -> ta da: in focus, take that shot ASAP, please. :D
