Nice shots :D They kick the back end out of my air show efforts You do yourself a disservice! There are some there (especially the RAF Falcons) that I wish I had taken over the years. I go to several airshows each year, and shoot vast numbers each time. I only show a tiny amount of the best of th...

Hello - about to be a Pentax user...
Hi - I have been using an Olympus Pen (micro four thirds) for the last 3 years, which increasingly better results. I have two lenses 14-14 and 40-150 (representing 18-300 in 35mm format). I have also come to understand the limitations of my current system and will be moving to a Pentax DSLR. Reas...

Long term, but very amateur, Pentax user
I've been filching the info I've sporadically needed from this excellent site for a good six months or so now and as I'm starting to get into photography quite heavily I thought I'd finally register and partake properly. I'm using (badly at the moment anyway) a K20d hand-me-down from my Dad (a stoi...

You will definitely see an improvement in image quality and resolution, but I would skip straight to the cameras with the 16MP sensor - K5, K30 or K50/K500. Much better at high ISO! ;P [Edit- the focus peaking in live-view on the K30/K50/K500 would also be useful if you are using old manual prime...

Taken from Wiki: Focus peaking is the name for an electronic display technology, which highlights the areas of sharpest focus in an image with a false-color halo. (The halo color is sometimes switchable according to the user's preference.) This technology originated with professional videograph...

Hello all
Afternoon everyone. I've been a pentax user from buying my first SLR which was a MZ-5, had a lot of good times and views captured with that camera along with a small studio setup I used (And still have) but time and jobs move on and I had a break from photography for many years, film became largely ...

Hello all
They are all OK to use although I'm not sure what you mean by 12v, is that the trigger voltage? For light use the cheap eBay ones are fine, I keep some as a back up. Some people swear by Apurture and others Pocket Wizard. I use Bowens Pulsars.

another newby needing help
Well after much practice. This is my first shot that I think is worthy of posting on the forum. The moon can be stunning when captured correctly as I have seen on various sites/images. I tried to shoot B/W but I don't think I have the skills to do it justice yet. TAv setting with manual focus, 500mm...

Hello to all from a lifelong Pentax fan......
I've just found this site, and decided that since my collection of cameras and lenses seems to keep growing and growing, and my focus is Pentax (pun intended), that I would join. I've been interested in Pentaxes since I was a kid - my dad's one and only camera was a Spotmatic, and my mom used an ES...
