Hello JohnX Thanks for that. Don't start saying I will soon want something better, please. That's just what I read when researching. I had looked for a DDSL,as explained, and was well warned that while a Bridge camera was well and good if I wasn't careful it could lead that way. I guess it co...

can i use it
Yes you can use it. Set the aperture ring on A and you have a fully functional lens with your K-x. It will still be manual focus of course!

can i use it
If it's a Pentax-A lens then it has to, unless there's something very wrong with it. Can you post an image of the back of the lens?

Just a quick thought, have you tried turning the lever to MF ( manual focus ) on the front of the camera

can i use it
Looking at it I can see no reason why it wouldn't fit. I presume other lenses that you have fit perfectly well? If you set the lens to an aperture, let's say f/8 and operate that lever by the protruding guard does the lens stop down smoothly and without hesitation? I was just wondering if the lev...

well, hello
hiya! I'm regular reader of the forum and registered in 2009 but never had a chance to introduce myself as it's the one of many forums subscribed. Initially started with film several years ago then overwhelmed by digital era and trusty K100D (which I still have) then moved back to film using few ...

Hello Pentax Fanatics!
I've owned an ME-Super since 1982 and I still shoot the occasional roll of film. I now have a K-X and a K5 and enjoy using my collection of vintage manual focus lenses. I have some Russian glass , Tamron Adaptall plus old SMC Pentax lenses. I look forward to contributing to this forum very soon. ...

my Pentax K-30
Hi and welcome to the forum. A lot of people rate the Tamron SP 90mm F/2.8 Di VC USD MACRO 1:1 highly for macro and it's also a reasonable focal length for portraiture. You might also be able to pick up some older versions of this lens second hand I have an older manual focus version of this lens......

my Pentax K-30
Hey Leanne, welcome to the site. As others have said, the Tamron is a great macro lens, but then to be honest most macro lenses tend to be pretty good. Pentax have their own 100mm lens, and Sigma make two in PKA fit - a 70mm and a 105mm. I'd be cautious about using the longer lenses for portr...

What is Best for new DSLR user K30 or K5?? Help Please
Yes I have a K30 and I use flash all the time. I set the camera to whatever shutter speed I require for the correct balance between ambient light and flash. Slow sync tends to require shutter speeds less than 1/180 but I use 1/180 when ambient light isn't important  Edit: Oh NOW I think I s...
