'New' Pentax ME Super Owner

So, hi everyone! Over the bank holiday weekend I decided to take the plunge into the world of film - picked up an ME Super with the 50mm f1.7 (is that how you should write that?? Naming conventions are still a bit baffling!) as well as a Cosina Cosinon 28mm f2.8 (wide angle) and an Ozeck 135mm f2...

'New' Pentax ME Super Owner

Also have an ME Super with 50mm and 150 mm lens. A super camera and excellent lens on which to learn and improve your skills. Filters, depth of focus, etc are easier to employ than my latest K-r digital. Any use offering to help?

Well about a Year later I'm thinking of coming back! Sob Story: https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/selling-up-again----37050 Feeling a little better, had a dalliance with a full frame Nikon too (D800 and 600), for a bit just to keep my hand in but in the end I really miss my Pentax! My fe...

It good to read of a Pentaxian making a come-back Jules! I'm also interested in your decision to return to the fold after a Nikon encounter as I've recently been debating whether to take the leap to a D600 for landscapes and keep the K5 for wildlife. At the moment I'm inclined to agree that FF ...

Welcome back, Jules. Your observations are fascinating and will make me stop dreaming about owning a Nikon full-fram DSLR. Imagine spending all that moeny and not being able to produce better images! Makes me shudder. Perhaps the grass always just "looks" greener... I need to be grateful for...

Hello Jules, nice to see you back on the site! I'm not sure if the K-5II has any advantage over the K-5 mk1 when it comes to landscapes, as the IQ is identical; only the focussing and rear screen are better on the K-5II and neither of these have much impact on landscape photography. The K-5IIS o...

Welcome back :) I have found the K5IIs a huge and apparent leap up in terms of IQ from the K5. My commercial stuff has been flowers and gardens (Chelsea etc - see my gallery). True, the lens has to be up to it, (DA*16-50, DA*50-135, DA12-24), but with LR4 the detail and quality just leaps off the...

Hi Matt, I found that too, I stopped using grads after I got the K5 and oddly had to start using them again with the D600 which supposedly has similar DR, figure that one out? It blows highlights almost routinely and all the DR seems to be in the shadows, where frankly I don't want it! It's one of ...
