optio wg1
I would pursue it further. The only possible get-out clause is the one we all (me too) ignore that tells us that seals should be serviced every 12 months to guarantee the camera stays waterproof. This also applies to waterproof watches. Just go back to JPS and/or Pentax and see what they will do....

Hello from New Zealand
Hi all, Thought it about time that I introduced myself. I'm Richard and, along with my wife Fleur, we enjoy photography and use Pentax cameras. Until recently this consisted of just a K100D, but I now have a shiny K-30 in my hands, courtesy of help from this forum  Like many we 'found' ...

Hello from New Zealand
Hi Richard, I'm just back from 3 weeks of touring the North Island and sifting my way through a couple of thousand images. My cousin's from Stratford but we managed a complete circuit of the island (missed Palmerston North though). It was our second trip to NZ - last time visited the and our othe...

Hello from New Zealand
Good stuff Malcolm, we look forward to seeing your photos. Glad you had a good trip, I presume the weather was good, and rather a contrast from back home it would appear at the moment!

old equipement
Welcome to the forum John! There is no way of adding a "digital back" to any SLR. Digital requires a huge amount of electronics, control mechanisms, and a battery - the whole thing would be huge and unwieldy! But there is a way of sorts... Buy a film scanner, shoot film and scan it! :D M...

Hi!
Hi! Joined here relatively recently. Used to shoot a lot of 35mm years ago, but just getting back into SLR Photography, having purchased a K-r last year. Hoping to learn plenty and improve!

Hello fellow addicts.
Hello all, My name is Pat and I've recently joined PU despite being a user for a couple of years now! I have had my K5 Silver for roughly that long. I made a decision when I moved back into SLR's that I would shot only primes this time and despite temptation that's what I've kept to. I own a ra...

Returning to Pentax again
Hi all, I used to use this site to read up about the pentax lenses, I had a KX which was a great camera but quite a lot of paid indoor sports work came my way so I swiftly moved to canon and invested lots of my hard earned money in to Canon kit. After a couple of years one night after wor...

Returning to Pentax again
Hi Steve, good to hear you are getting over a bit of a shock and that you are coming back to Pentax. I would probably advise you to look at either a K-30 or a K-5 rather than a K20. You have clearly been used to very capable kit and both the K-30 and the K-5 will deliver consistency of results in ...

Returning to Pentax again
The K30-with dual control wheels - is pretty capable. I came from a K20 to a K5, then added a K30 as back-up whilst my K5 was away for repairs. I don't find the K30 loses any of the IQ of the K5 despite the 12/14bit disadvantage for the k30. The buffer for the K3o is smaller than the K5, but the 30 ...

Hello all (+query)
Hi Nick, and welcome. Does your camera behave correctly with a more modern auto lens fitted? When set to manual focus and manual exposure and no lens fitted, does it take and record an all white/grey image correctly?

Hello from Western Denmark
Hi Shanti, welcome to the site. Had a particularly nice family holiday in Denmark a few years ago. The zoo at Aarhus was one of the best we have ever seen and particularly loved the place where the two seas meet at Skagen. Hope to go back ...maybe to Funen next time. cheers Karlo

Hi all. Thought I'd better join PU, seeing I keep getting an invite every time I check out any postings on this forum. Bit of a 'born again' photographer, as I've finally got a little more time on my hands now I've retired. My last serious hobby photography was so far back in time it almost sca...

Welcome :D One topic I have picked up on whilst surfing the net is the fact that lens build quality in general is possibly not as consistent as one might hope for, possibly leading to substandard images. My question then is this; has anyone established a generic test other than photographin...
