Hello everybody
Well I'm totally new to photography bar the last few months. I also went for the K-x after reading many reviews and have so far found it to be a great DSLR. There are others on PU who have the K-x and rate it highly. Hope you enjoy the return and a warm welcome back. Will

Hi from a big quiet lad!!
Hi Gordon....^^^^^^^ What they said  But I'd add that I've learnt more by posting and getting some really useful C&C back. And I'd not done any photography before getting my istDL earlier this year.

Hi from a big quiet lad!!
Hi folks, I got a Pentax MZ50 about 6yrs ago from an ex work colleague having got back into photography when I headed for Australia for my 30th. Was using a kodak advantix for that 1st trip and wanted to do more as I had done a module at school. 2nd trip to Aus and I had an SLR and the change of ph...

Pentax Super A
Hi The bellows are made by Kenlock. Look like a miniature studio monorail 5x4 camera. Made for 35mm cameras with full tilt swing and shift movements, front and back. Have a T mount fitting so will work with any camera. Had them over 10 years now. Used 5x4 and 6x9 lenses with it. Turned up one ...

Pentax Super A
Bought my first ME Super in 1982. Both ME Supers were used for theatre photography as they were the quietest. Tried the Super A but too noisy shutter and mirror. Every time I took a shot everybody stopped and stared at me. Echoed round the theatre. Used one with 50mm 1.4 for groups and other with 8...

Hello pentax users
Hello I'm getting back into film again after a loooong time and resurrecting my ME Super. I have also just bought a Spotmatic with 50mm lens for nostalgic reasons (it being a camera that I would have dearly loved to have owned in my youth but couldn't afford). So will probably be asking a few qu...

A Silvery Surfer from Kirkcaldy.
Hello from 'Langtoun-Wullie'...a long time Pentax user. I started using a Pentax, way back in 1963, in Singapore whilst in the RAF....I've since worked my way up to a recently purchased K200D with the 18/55 zoom lens. Found it to be the perfect combination for vacation and family photography.

Welcome CJ. Dodgy choice of wine though. Try a decent Rioja and you won't go back to the vinegar you drink at the moment :D

Fit like the noo...
 sounds like a good formula to me ! Mind you, I bought crates and crates of Leffe back from France recently - Blonde, Brune, 9'er , Triple and something called Demon - 12% - wonderful stuff and soooo much cheaper than here. Actually , I should stress that I do like a nice cup of Yorkshire te...

Hi & Merry Xmas
I'm a total newbie to this Photography lark, so be gentle with me. I have recently bought the K100D + 18-55. My main interest at the moment has got to be portraits,(first grandchild :D). I have the kit lens & also picked up a Pentax A 50mm f1.7, altough i am having some problems focusing the ...

Hi & Merry Xmas
Hi Colin, welcome to the forum. :) Portrait lenses tend to be a little longer than general walkabout lenses, I'd suggest that 50-70mm is probably the best portrait length and 28-35mm is the best "general purpose" focal length. For a 50mm lens then the Pentax FA 50mm f1.4 is hard to beat value-...

Hi & Merry Xmas
since you already have the 50 1.7.... here's something to try while you're waiting for you're new lens... switch the camera to mf. set up your shot, using a teddy bear as a stand in for the grandchild. remove the bear, pose the child, aim the lens so the childs eye (closest to camera) is dead ...

Hi & Merry Xmas
Thanks all I think i will heed your advice Hefty and get the 50mm f1.4 to start with, the walkabout will have to wait, (unless Santa's feeling generous, and i will start hinting now, just in case). Don. i will try your tip thanks, maybe i can get some use out of the manual focus lens then.( may...

Hi & Merry Xmas
Colin, Agree with all of the above - I have a lowley K110D and some amazing glass. However, I return to the kit lens more than I thought I ever would. Once understood, it's very good. One thing to check for us who are visually challenged :P is the diopter adjustment on your camera - it makes a...

Hi & Merry Xmas

Any advice on a good auto focus portrait lens, which i could also use as a general walkabout, would be appreciated. Have about £200 to spend Thanks As I posted before on ano...
