Hey Mike Just wondering how useful this is as a general purpose lens in addition to macro. Is it quick to focus and how does it cope when the subject is outside of the close focussing range? I'd quite like a decent fast walkaround lens that could grab macro shots too. Cheers James

Hi James. Seems to focus as quickly as the other lenses I have, it has a focus limiter as well if needed. As for use a general purpose lens, I dont think you would have any problems with it .. although it is quite large when compared to a normal Pentax FA 50mm f1.7.
