Last evening's 3%
I managed to get some nice photos of the total solar eclipse we had in the United States a few weeks back. I used my new 150-450mm lens on one of my K-5 Mk.I bodies.

Thank-you! Right through the very start of totality I was in a panic that I was not going to get anything, as I could not achieve focus.

Bluebell time
Definitely the Spanish ones. I've got them in the front garden and they are spreading without my help. I've also got a few of the native variety in the back garden, but they don't seem keen to do anything but just about survive. As for photos, I know what you mean about them not coveying the impa...

An afternoon in to an evening (Image heavy)
Yes it's a bus stop. It was the sign in the top left of the back wall that drew it to me!

Inside Aberthaw Power Station 1-10
Aberthaw B station is an old coal fired power station, a big one at 1500MW. The coal would have been pulverised to dust and burned, the heat produced in the boilers creates steam, which under extreme pressure is used to turn, in this station's case, three 500MW steam turbines . Coal fired power stat...

Inside Aberthaw Power Station 1-10
The father of a friend worked in the power station, so I showed him the pics.. Here is his response (included with permission) which I thought would be of interest to forum members:- "These photos are interesting. I did actually work in the labs there from after A levels until going to Uni.. ...

A Different View of a Bluebell
Bluebells seem to be the plant of the moment, so here's another one of the native species. There are only a few plants in the back garden, though, so no possibility of majestic drifts. Instead, a different view was needed - in this case a vertical view from above. Taken a few weeks ago when the flow...

The day before the Aurora
Ah, there's nothing like a good bit of macro and close-up to clear the mind of distractions  . I'll forgive you the landscapey water shot, it's not unknown for me to do such things with a macro lens before getting back to the world of little things, Was the lens a Sigma 105mm macro? Steve

Feathered Selection
Some type of Warbler: Sedge, Willow, Chiffchaff? Nice set of images, by the way how do you rate the K3iii Auto Focus. Cheers Mike

Feathered Selection
A lovely set of lovely birds  . The spoonbill is a bit exotic, perfect for brightening up a wet and miserable British spring! Some type of Warbler: Sedge, Willow, Chiffchaff? Agreed. Hard to distinguish from a shot like that. Colour of legs suggests Willow Warbler, the Chiffchaff has blac...

M 200mm f4 around the garden
If you have not used many older manual focus lenses before, I would suggest for accurate focussing, use LV zoomed to 100% (need a tripod)

Raindrops on leaves
One of my favourite things to do with the K-3 and DA 35mm Limited is to take photographs of raindrops on leaves. This can be done while it's still raining (I've never had a problem even though the DA 35mm is not weather-sealed) or just after, though if the sun comes out afterwards then that may dra...
