It's the same mysterious force that gets a correctly addressed package go missing for several weeks, eventually find its way back to the sender and have to be re-sent. It begs the question why not just deliver it. No doubt there is some reason in the scheme of things. If only I could find it. ...

... Sorry about that, but been a bad week Cheers Rich So that you don't feel its only you, and possibly to share the woes around a bit, I had a very bad start to this week. I wrote off my DA*16-50 on Monday: My wife, Jane, & I decided to go out for a walk very early on Monday. Part o...

Actually they DO have a Saturday delivery service. It is referred to at: Yes it is a service for which they charge extra BUT as they messed up they should waive that and deliver tomorrow. Get back onto them and give them hell - they are in breach of contract and are failing to rectify it I did rin...

I live in a very rural location and I have to say in defence of the Post Office they are excellent. Six months ago, I ordered three special black-out blinds from Velux, very expensive, coming from Scotland, four days delivery quoted from company, (private courier) ten days later telephoned company,...

I've been mulling over splurging cash on a D700 or D3....admittedly the AF on them is way ahead of my K10D. Other factors that appeal to me include high iso performance and general build.... But, I am happy with the K10D at the moment, and the Pentax glass (even though I have been scaling back m...

Basically, it's who's behind the camera, not the name on it, that counts. Not saying that anyone will make a comment about the name of the brand that I am thinking about, but the statement above has nothing to do with the reason that I am thinking of changing. I have used 2 makes of cameras in th...

Some are FF already, although not advertised as such and others are reduced APS-C format. Pentax has a huge back catalogue of quality lens design, so I would guess that if a FF frame camera is planned then the appropriate range of lenses would be in the wings ready.

Maybe Not So Biased After All?

I've just finished my stint filling out questionnaires for Amateur Photographer and the thank you "goody bag" has dropped through the door, which was nice. One item was a copy of "What Digital SLR?" and they have a very good review of the Km in there. The whole magazine seems very even handed and...

Missed photo opportunities, what's yours?

I was sitting very quietly, on the grass in my local churchyard one evening last week reviewing some shots I had just taken on the screen on my GX 1S when a young male fox walked past within about 5 yards of me - he either hadn't seen me or wasn't concerned about me. I watched with fascination as h...

OTT Security Guards - St Helens Festival - Sherdley Park 2009

Went back to the today, because I only stayed a few minutes yesterday because of the heavy showers. I was walking around with a small Sony Handycam hung around my neck when I was stopped by a Security Guard who wanted me to have a word with his boss after he had first asked me if I was there on m...

OTT Security Guards - St Helens Festival - Sherdley Park 2009

Hi shim, I went to the festival today as well, to take some shots of the Classic Cars, my friend has a MG on display and I particularly wanted to get some shots of that. Once I had taken plenty of photos of the cars, I went for a walk around to see what else was going on, I was stood watching the ...

AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I just mentioned this occurence to a girl I work with. She fully agrees with the security guards' actions as, "All paedophiles are men on their own". Ridiculous. Did you remind her of those female nursery workers recently tried for child abuse? We'v...
