I used to work for a security company that did a study on the state-of-the-art of virus/firewall software. (sort of a gray area company... writing both protection and attack software - for law enforcement use) When tested against ancient (five year old) kit software (i.e. software used by script...

You can also try Opera Browser, I flit between Firefox and Opera. One feature I love on Opera is Speed Dial, having up to nine websites available like that is a useful thing. Vikramkeshvala What software are you referring to that allows you to create a bootable external Windows disk as back up...

Mirror / back-up software
What I would really like is a piece of software which compares the contents of directories A, B and C on one hard disk with a second disk, and then copies the new files (or newer files) across so that the listed directories are exact mirrors of each other. I am using a PC, and we are talking abou...

Mirror / back-up software
Scooter Software's " " is, without a doubt, the best directory sync tool I have ever used ;) Use it daily (and even scripted as well!) - for images between four backup HDDs, for software source-code, and general DIFF work as well :D Matt

Mirror / back-up software
If you know a little bit about DOS, or are willing to learn, you can write your own ".bat" DOS batch file (program) utilising the XCOPY command. It would only take a few lines. It won't delete files from the backup, so you would have to delete unwanted files manually, or delete the entire backup ...

Lightroom and SilkyPix?
Does Picasa understand yet that multiple sub-directories may exist with the same name yet be totally unrelated? i.e. if I consistently convert my raw files to a subdir named "JPEG", I may end up having hundreds of JPEG folders. Last time I used Picasa, all of those images were thrown together unde...

Lightroom and SilkyPix?
I rather like lightroom for many things, especially that it's edits are "non-destructive", i.e. your original file remains unaltered, the various processes being recorded in lightroom or written to an XML sidebar file. The metadata tagging, search facilities, labelling files as "rejected" or "picks"...

Lightroom and SilkyPix?
To go back to the OP, I would be curious if someone has found a way of using Silkypix with Lightroom. After all the recommendations I have heard for silkypix I'd be interested in looking at this further. Well, I took the plunge and purchased Lightroom. The more I used it and read about what it coul...

Waterfall with K20D
Hi terry, Fantastic shots. I really love the first shot the most. The bridge at the bottom of the picture really shows the size, magnificance and magisty of the waterfall. It also frames the shot extremely well. The bridge along with the brick wall on the side of the shot really make me think...

tripod
It has to take about 12.5 pounds in total. I was planning to buy a pan and tilt head, ball and socket heads are not so good with the view camera. I am not planning to climb mountains with it on my back, but it needs to be portable enough to move around in the great outdoors. It needs to go up to ...
