Hi Mike,

Certainly does, comes with both caps, hood and box too. I would have thought you would have one already!

Glad to see they are not bringing anything that make me want to upgrade from my K-5

I also don't think there is anything wrong with Apple's approach which delivers a revolutionary if somewhat flawed product to follow it up with a more conservative but rather polished one.

If you want to be first with some of the best tech just buy on the first cycle if not buy on the second... I have a K-5 and a iPhone 3 and iPhone 4 and I am jumping on the iPhone 5 soon as...

So I am definitely up for a bit of risk if it means I can get some nice features quickly. Never really disliked any of my early adopters purchases anyway!

Hi,

I have two, I only currently need one and would like to spend the cash on a smaller camera so one has to go!

Perfect condition, boxed, both caps, hood, you probably wouldn't know it is second hand as it has seen tiny amounts of use.

Pics will follow.

£460 sent RMSD day after cleared funds hit my account.

Advertised elsewhere!

The menu is not very intuitive and it could definitely use some better explanations of each of the items in it. Of course with the amount of controls on the K-5 body, slow to navigate menus are not that much of a problem but they might be on lower end cameras without as many physical controls.

On the ergonomics front though Pentax is second to none for my hands anyway. Everything feels at the right place, heck I don't even have the slightest problem with the card door placement! I especially like the handgrip. I had, long time ago, for a very very sort period an *ist and that felt near perfect as well. It might just be that I have relatively small hands so the smaller cameras suit me a lot better than the D7ks and 7Ds of this world.

So frankly if I want anything from the successor or a new Pentax camera is a K-5 in a smaller lighter body please

I had a very quick play with the K-30 the weekend (lovely camera btw!!! I am not sure which but one of the reviews I read complained about it feeling cheap, didn't think so at all!) and to me it seemed that the AF (single AF point mind you) with a 18-55 was really really quite fast. Definitely faster than what my K-5 manages with any lens other than the 40mm prime. Heck the K-01 seems faster with the 40mm attached than my K-5. So anything better than the K-30 would be quite nice.

On the price front I am not sure the K-5 can drop any further really. If it did they'd have to drop the price of the K-30 a bit because as it stands the K30 is only 50-100£ cheaper than a K-5 and in a few significant ways the K-5 is still the better camera. I'd assume the K-5 will remain around till channel clears at around 650-700£ but the new one will come in at what the K-5 started at ie well above the £1k point.

I don't see how anyone can say that Pentax might be abandoning the APS-C format if the K-3 is FF did they not just announce the K-30 a very competitive camera at a very competitive price.

Also FAltds aside I am not persuaded that Pentax will release brand new digital camera costing £2k and depend for lenses on its film aged stable. So maybe an FF is on the way together with some glass to go with it.

Also the D600 is fairly compact for FF standards but the lenses are just as massive and heavy as for the rest of the FF. So as far as FF is concerned even a K-5 sized/weighing camera is not going to make much of a dent if you still have to carry FF glass.

Of course on the other hand a K-3+FAltds is unmatched for size/weight compared to Canon/Nikon exactly like the K-5+DAltds is.

I am not sure I agree that it is up there with the ltds but I love that lens... It feels sooo right in front of the K-5 and that 16mm is just about wide enough to get you by in most situations without needing to carry the 10-20

Not up there with the 50-135 but quite close. I love mine.
