The way my better half dealt me tonight I feel like the richest man in the world, money couldn't replace her.

sorry to get soppy...

I don't have a better half, we are equal, and I have her permission to say so

That's the bedrooms and staircase hoovered, play time again

Is the expression "Lucky Dip" a contradiction in terms when using that facility on the National Lottery web site. I think a more realistic name for it would be "Most Probably Not Lucky Dip"

Is there such a thing a "Military Intelligence" or is that another contradiction in terms :

Yes, I know of people who couldn't cope with retirement too, and quite a lot who didn't make it to retirement, one of the reasons I quit when I did.
I know for sure the prostate cancer would not have been detected (I took part in random screening) until too late and a year later the bowel cancer. Now I feel every day above ground is a bonus not to be wasted

I just stare into space and dream of the day when I can retire, (18 months 3 weeks and 2 days to go). Then I can grow old disgracefully.
Be careful of what you wish for I took early retirement and since then have wondered how I ever found the time to go to work. My wife retired early too about 5 months after me and she thinks the same. It's amazing how busy you will find yourself.

When logging in to the forum which section do you look at first? For me it's Classified Adverts to see what new toys are on offer. Then I see if I can find a review of the item, then go to various other sites to compare prices, then decide I can't afford it and spend a little time convincing myself I don't need it, which is usually the most difficult part of the whole procedure

On Friday I just got "her indoors" trained to carry the kit while I went snapping

and it was going well until she slipped down a mud bank

Luckily she has put the bags down on a seat. I think the sudden lack of weight caused her to over balance.

Day cut short obviously

Remember a few posts back I said I was spending a weekend in Yorkshire.
Well, 7am Saturday morning, packed the car, shovelled the dog into the back seat, sped off and...ermmm..... left all my camera gear in the hallway, Stupid Boy! . Most miserable weekend I've ever spent away.
But look at all the extra time you had to spend with the dog

...... I wish we had pubs with rooms .
Because of the cheap booze from supermarkets and the No Smoking all the pubs around here have lots of rooms I must admit it's sometimes a relief to get inside a pub for a breath of fresh air

Good idea and reasonably well executed but the stalk of the leaf (it is only one leaf, isn't it?) needs more work to make it convincing.

Well done.
I agree the stalk doesn't look right, I think it lost "definition" when changing the background colour (and removing the Blu-tak from the end). Not being an artist I don't know how to make the stalk look more real so any tips there welcome. I think I'll try again with another leaf, using a piece of plain white paper for the bg.

Thanks to all for the kind comments.
