Finally given in and bought a mirrorless camera complete with the "kit" lenses. Can't believe the difference in weight from the K-3 (gripped or ungripped). I will still be keeping the K-70, which at the moment has a bellows attached and 2mm microscope objective, but may well trade in the K-3, (7459 shutter count). I won't be leaving Pentax completely so will stay on the forum etc. I have an adapter with which I can use the old lenses with an aperture ring on the mirrorless but as yet not tried out any of those.

Still got a dedicated Sony Video Camera DCR-PC5E with some bits and bobs. Probably obsolete now as it was bought around 1998 or a bit earlier. Must get it out and see what videos still play.

So.. does anybody have any reccomendations on what adapters are out there to use my pentax lenses on sony FF mirrorless?
I am googling to see what's available but hoping someone here has hands on experience and can recommend a good one?
I found this company seems to have various adapters. I got a micro 4/3 to Pentax K adapter no contact between lens and camera so completly manual and some one at my camera club is using some of his Canon lenses on a Sony a7. Might be worth sending them an email.

I have used this company and have no complaints with there goods or services.

Looks like we need a new Magic Lantern guide book for the K3 ...Peter Burian's book on the K7 is excellent and does exactly what people on here have been asking for - putting settings and configurations into practical shooting contexts and considering the likely effects in differing scenarios.

Obviously the K7 doesn't have the same AF complexities, but that matter on the K3 is ripe for the same kind of treatment. I wonder how we can persuade the publishers to do a book for the K3?
I agree something akin to the Magic Lantern book I had for the K-7 would be great. Also if the manual was more useable it would be a step in the right direction, most of the symbols look like black squares to me, even when magnified. I wonder if the other makes have this problem. Everyone I know uses either C N or S with a couple of O and Pa, thrown into the mix so more chance of someone with an answer.. Yes there is always advice etc on here but it's not a lot of help when out in the field and "Connection Unavailable" My next camera will be a ….

Does it also work as a baby monitor

No idea don't have any babies to try it out on. It does what I want so am happy with the set up. It's my main photography these days as I don't get out much. I'm still a member of my local camera club but think this will be my last year, if I don't have images to show in the competitions it gets very boring.

That must be a very small camera Stan, if you need a microscope to see it Was the previous owner a spider?

The camera is attached to the microscope trinocular tube. I would use my K-70 for the same job but not found software for it to equal the ease of use the Canon has. Touch screen or triggered by software on the computer to avoid camera shake.

Stan, will you be able to show your images on here ? 50% of mine can't

John
Ha Ha, I have two cameras with which I can't show images on here, an old 650d Canon used with a microscope, so no lenses for it, the software is great for remote work with a computer and monitor, and a my wifes Panasonic compact.

DSCL all the way for me
So it's not just me then although I've had similar comments on colour images too Have been toying with getting another printer but the cost of genuine ink is also prohibitive for an amateur so will carry on with my cheapish 260gsm paper from PPD and Stinky inks with my old Canon pixma 6550 printer. If I ever need a properly printed image I'll send it away to be printed but there again with my crap eyesight would there be any point?
