When I was a youngster I wanted a Royal Enfield Constelation, that was before the 50cc limit was put on for learners. Never had a motor bike, probably a contributing factor to living so long

The car is better weather sealed for the user than the motor cycle

Just had my first full day out with the "New" camera and lens. Can't believe how light it is and for the photography I do am sure its going to fulfill my photographic needs. I'm still keeping my Pentax gear as I won't be carrying it far and have a fixed use for the K-70. Will remain a member of this Forum as I still have archive material I can use for competitions etc.

There is a button on the K-70 which is marked as WiFi/Fx2 and was wondering what it is for. At the moment I only have a bellows attached and a microscope objective. With a lens attched I get a WiFi sbol showing which is faint so assume its doing nothing.

Stan, there is a dedicated Olympus forum somewhere and if you sign up they also have an online magazine. I am registered there myself, but offhand don't have the details. It might be helpful to you with more specific backup and info.
I think this thread has run it's course John so if you want to block any more comments here that is OK with me.

I still have two Pentax cameras and various lenses which I will most likely be keeping as I still want to enter the competitions etc and will make sure before posting it's the "Right" camera which was used. I've stated my reasons for what I have purchased. Obviously I would have preferred something by Pentax but it wasn't to be.

Spill the beans Stan Which camera did you buy?

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III with the two kit lenses. Hasn't got the bells and whistles of the K-3 or K-70 but a great deal lighter to carry about all day. Means I can use my lighter tripod too.

I hope you enjoy your new set-up Stan and if it means you can continue to enjoy photography that has to be a good thing.
If I could afford to I would probably jump ship too. I'm fed up with waiting for something from Pentax. As it is I can't afford to so have to stick with what I have, and I actually end up using my phone more and more rather than lugging stuff.
Thanks for the good wishes. I'm not jumping ship entirely Gwyn, just lightening the load. I'll still have a Pentax and lenses in the back of the car when I know I wont have too far to carry it, just in case the weather changes for the worse and of course they fit on my microscopes. The number of images I see on Facebook and the like "Taken by phone" perhaps Pentax should develop one of those?

Looked at a Q ages ago, Barrie had/has one and it seemed tiny. At the time I was in much better condition for the heavyweight stuff.

I think you like the articulated view screen for selfies

Well I never thought of that. I thought they were seeing what you were getting while up-skirting

Main reason for change is weight. As for image quality its probably on a par with other cameras with the "kit" lenses. To answer Barrie, I would keep the K-70 for the articulated view screen as the camera is mainly used for photographing things like a slide of the inside of a snails mouth and other microscopic items and I don't have to get into funny angles to watch the focus. I have an old Canon 650D on my microscope bought because the software was very easy to set up and again articulated screen. Knowing me I will probably keep the K-3 too but also needed to appease the "Financial Controller". Advantage of K-3 two card slots and two batteries when gripped. My eyesight is not that good now and I don't get out as much due to back problems so weight of kit is important to me.
