We are all influenced by other images, I think yours differs greatly from the first, I certainly wouldn't say, "rip off" influenced is a much better term.
That would be my sentiments too. And I like your photo.

Thanks Alan for an educational and very enjoyable time this morning at Druridge Pools. I appreciate you allowing me to use your Sigma 150-500mm lens and for spotting the cuckoo, just wish my ability had been equal to the lens

Some (not very good) pics. As Rolf Harris would say "Can you see what it is yet"?

Very nice images Alan. Now if you could have got closer to the cuckoo this morning and had the Q to hand :

Many years ago a photograph was published which some of the older members may remember. It comprised a burst water main and a man dragging a pneumatic drill away from the site. Whilst I didn't expect to see such a classic shot taken and entered during the period of the competition I thought the title and what I was looking for was clear. It appears some members are unable to understand the concept of men going about their business so perhaps one of them could set a subject and I will happily stand aside.
As regards the images John has mentioned I think everyone should read the few simple rules of this competition or have their images judged accordingly.

I'm looking for Men at Work photo's which I think everyone could obtain. The work involved can be self explanatory but if tinged with a little humour, subtlety, or seriousness so much the better. Photographs must be taken during the month of September 2012 Thanks and Good Luck

I have ask JR to change the closing date to the 30/9/12

excellent composition. personally would liek it slightly brighter though.
Thanks for the comment

Yes, it could do with being a bit brighter and I would probably do that if I was going to print it as my printer seems to print "darker" probably due to my screen not being calibrated properly or something.
