I`ve just mowed/mown the lawn/lawen for the firat time this year - lovely scent !

Well it was our 41st wedding anniversary - so Jo cooked a delightful lamb leg steak each with melted Brie,basil mint and a hint of garlic.Roasted 1/4 potatoes in their skins and wilted spinnach.Small glass of something Merlot like and I was a very happy bunny.

The sun is actually out here after all the trumpeting over the last 2 days - things can only get better eh ?

Just a youngster Bernard - I used to get a can for 3/6d gallon -(17 1/2p) and I earned 2/3 3/4d per hour as a waiter - ( 11 1/4 p ) - Embassy tipped were 3/6d for 20 and if you were feeling flush you had a Guinness at 1/6d instead of a pint at 1/1d

Aaah good old days - half crowns,florins,farthings,thruppeny bits,tanners and a ten bob note would last a month !!
