Interesting, your line of work,my daughter is a "cop" - Field Intelligence officer with the Metropolitan Police in a small undercover squad checking out the Olympic site for the next couple of years up to the 2012 Games. She is a great photographer and is off on a 2 week course starting next Monday to retrain on covert surveillance and camera work - should be a gas.
Sadly they seem to use C*non cameras but I will be expecting an update pretty soon.
She has a Pentax ES11 and an MZ50 , but these days seems to prefer her ipod,Fuji S7000 ( from mom ) and a C*non A710 IS whatever that is !
Sorry about Boise,my bro-in-law is from Washington ( now in Toronto )and we have great banter about the USA and photography ( he studied with Ansell Adams for a while ).Take care out there and again - welcome back

Shot today with K20D and Sigma 70-300 Apo Macro super. The coffee pot is iconic to me and the simplest form of producing great ground coffee. The Nescafe is the antithesis and the Tassimo is the new generation.

Surely if it elicits money from the viewer then it should have some merits - if it is experimental then well and good but don`t expect me to waste my pensioner`s discounted seat price and £4.50 for the popcorn to find out.

anvh - I`m not sure on that one as I write - there is a school of thought that says some of the Philip K. Dick stories were brilliant films - but I must admit the written word is far more powerful if it sets the imagination soaring rather than a cinematographic interpretation by one reader /director who is biased toward his/her own interpretation.
Didn`t mean to get stroppy or heavy - I just hate being ripped of by anyone - film-maker,author,recording artist....................

The Blair Witch Project - don`t tell me that was a good film !!
Like it or loath it, at least the Blair Witch Project was interesting from a concept/cinematography point of view.

For me the worst films are the inexcusibly bland ones.
There you go you see !!!! Emperors new clothes syndrome - it`s odd, quirky, badly shot, poorly scripted - it MUST be good art !! Bit like all that pretentious cr*p we are foisted with in the art galleries and award ceremonies.

Heh yes I can suspend my disbelief, but only so far!!!

Starship Troopers is probably my favorite book ever. I must have read it hundreds of times as a teenager. The movie was awful! I think I've read everything Heinlein wrote. I much prefer the later stuff from the 70s and 80s.[/quote]Now we are on the same wavelength - Heinlein was my great hero too - I`ve read and re-read many times over the last 50 years - Stranger in a Strange Land has to be the GREATEST - only a couple were a bit off key.
