Scary to read that the US government INSISTED that BP used the US recommended rig builders not their own tried and tested ones !
But will they accept responsibility ? I think not.

I would have expected a crocus at least Tim.

"In the medieval period the primary trade in Saffron Walden was in wool. However, in the 16th century and 17th century the saffron crocus (crocus sativus) became widely grown in the area. The flower was precious, as extract from the stigmas, the saffron, was used in medicines, as a condiment, as a perfume, as an aphrodisiac, and as an expensive yellow dye. This industry gave its name to the town and Chipping Walden became Saffron Walden."

Very very difficult area to be talking about - having experienced being a 10 year old boy ( 1956 ),I am saddened to think that,in this day and age, children are so focused upon and knowledgeable about things that to me were unthinkable at that age.
Yes, I am sure I was involved in " show me yours etc" and "doctors and nurses" etc - but NEVER in my recollection was there any desire to be any more than curious and the fear of parental recrimination was sufficient to take the desire out of going any further ( even if I had experienced any desire ! ).

I find this to be another symptom of the general malaise which we have allowed to fester in this country - lack of parental care or interest, abrogation of responsibility , and the freedom to allow children to "do what they want" in order to have an easy life.
The judge said he had misgivings about the trial,I certainly have ,and without knowledge of any of the intricate details I am uncertain as to who the instigator of these happenings was.

I think maybe parental responsibiliy needs to be addressed - certainly when the Tabloids print photos of the 3 year old daughter of Jordan dressed like a tart and magazines promote growing up as quickly as possible.
Sorry to be a bit heavy - I`m off to Ashbourne Derbyshire tomorrow for a 2 day family gathering - two cameras and 5 lenses should do it !

My name is Tony ( 64 1/12th ) and I have been suffering on and off now for some 30 years ( I only have 22 lenses honest )

In the last month or so I have purchased a K100D ( for my wife ! ) a Sigma 24-70 AF Aspherical and a Monopod.

I only need a 12-24 now, thanks to Davex tempting me and letting me use his.
Do you think I should sell my old M42 stuff to finance this dream ?

Replies on the back of a postage stamp please......................

Oh hang on ............ I just got a reminder from Ebay...............

Don`t you just love `em John ?

In all my years in catering I had some gems ---"the peppered steak is too peppery" !
"The garlic bread was too garlicky" !
"Could I have my Steak Tartare cooked ? ? ? "
And the winner was ....................."I ordered Quenelles of Chicken & Duck liver pate - where are the Quenelles ( I Know what they are they`re little spoons of fish ?? )" - "No madam a Quenelle is a shape made using two spoons - would you like to see my Michelin Entry ?"

Eh Ho - Lord preserve us from "experts"
