Processed from RAW in Silkypix and changed to mono using a Taste I downloaded. But no jiggery-pokery... (It did help that the dog behind had an almost completely black head.)

Walking with my daughter in the local woods today, a lady came past with her two dalmatians (there's Dots and Spots, shouts daughter, ever conscious of the competition). They both saw the same thing and had a sniff together. Unfortunately, this was a fleeting moment and the half second didn't quite allow me time to frame properly. But I think the result is quite amusing (and I'm still impressed by the Sigma 105mm).

Thanks for the comments everyone - I hadn't realised about keeping the AF button pressed down to focus, and the macro use seems worth trying as well. So maybe not quite as bad as I thought, in which case this thread has served its purpose! Thanks again.
