Cleaned my pond filters today and found more holes in the foams than the Crumpet I have just eaten.

Hi,
Just a little update on the DIY Gimbal for those who are intrested.
I shortened the camera/lens arm by (2cm), which makes the K10D/Sigma 50-500mm lens a lot lighter to use, the main support arm lowered by (3cm) and a extra bearing added. The two 3mm thick PTFE washers replaced with 1mm thickness and a better paint job using Hammerite metal Satin black spray paint.

Oh, Ken still need to clean my sensor!

Finally able to take a couple of pictures late this afternoon using my DIY Gimbal with a Manfrotto 475 tripod, SR on, cable release, K10D and Sigma 50-500mm lens.
The first picture is at F6.7 and the second at F13 (allways sharper) and at around 400m.
Sorry about the boring pictures. (not enhanced)

Thanks for that Kris.
Well I have not used it much yet, but its movment is quite smooth and easy simalar to the Manfrotto 393. Tried a few local pictures today with the Sigma on it and the results were not bad considering it was a very dull day. (as usual). It is heaver than the Manfrotto (1.6kg) mine (1.8kg), but as I mentioned there are improvements that could be made,I realized some as I put it together!

Thanks for your reply.
Would it be ok to put it the gallery?
As I do not have a Web site.
