I ony started thinking about this as I have decided I really would like to get a set of NDs.

Why don't digital cameras offer built-in ND filters? In other words, why can't the electronic eye just be less sensitive and need a longer exposure? Is it because the technology of the chip means it produces too much noise with long exposures?
I get that you wouldn't see the ND-ness in the viewfinder, but that'd be a good thing, surely....
Maybe I am missing the point somewhere. Enlighten me.

Using Old Pentax Lenses on Newer Pentax Cameras:
I see that they can be picked up cheaply on ebay. What are the pitfalls on picking up a few cheaply? will they be any better (or worse) than my kit lens on my K30? That is to say, will a 50mm old lens (in good condition) produce very different shots than a modern stock lens?

I really, really love my new K-3II. I love my K-30 as well but stepping up to the new camera has made me realise how hard I had to work with the K-30 to get things right. Not that the K-30 was a bad camera at all (on the contrary) but for the number of shoots I was doing, it was really hard-going.
In any case, I am very glad I didn't wait for the new FF. I will have lots of satisfaction and fun shooting with the K-3II for quite a while.
