Misunderstandings happen on the internet that probably wouldn't happen between the same people if they were communicating in person.
Forums are imperfect places and nobody is going to agree with everything, and moderators have a thankless task.
If John and Tim wish to make up or not then I suggest they are left to do that by themselves, and they don't really need our advice.
I also suggest we all go and have a nice cup of tea and then go and do some photography
Best Regards
The other 'Tim'

I think you have enough lenses, you now need to spend your money on taking photographs!!!

So whoever you are, I encourage you to join as:
a.) They are a friendly bunch, and your photography will improve by joining in and getting critique on your work
b.) If you're not a member and you look at my gallery it will look rather empty

The little piece that pulls out is so that if you fit a circular polariser you can twist the polariser without taking the lens hood off, by putting your finger through the hole made by pulling the plastic tab out.

I have won more awards this year than I could ever have dreamed of, beating many of thousands of other photographers using FF cameras.
I also met a number of my 'photographic heros' whose works really inspire me, and who consistently produce amazing exhibition winning images, they all had APS-C cameras (not Pentax I'm afraid!) some of them a generation or so behind, and each owned a rather small number of lenses.
If you like cameras I would suggest you go and buy a FF camera and a bagful or two of lenses.
If you like photography and producing images I would suggest you buy a good-value Pentax camera, a lens or two, and spend the rest of your money on producing as many images as you can with that camera.
In the future when you are old or six feet under your images will still live on, while your camera will soon be out of date, forgotten, languishing in a box somewhere.
I don't usually do philosophical posts (To be fair I don't usually post!!) but I do feel people get too hung up on this debate, and don't spend enough time improving their photography. Therein ends my sermon for today
