Well, have ordered it so will let you know how I get on. John my excuse is a good one I can no longer switch my current compact on and off - just hope I can manage the X90 or the excuse will wear a bit thin.

Bit like my excuse for buying clothing I have either loss weight or put it on.

Thank you folks, it was something light but that would take acceptable shots when required, acceptable that is to other people.

I use a, and I'll whisper, Nikon P80 at the moment and although the results are OK I have never been that happy with the controls particularly the on/off button or the feel. It is clocking on a bit now and I could do with a bit more reach.

If the write up is in this months PU I will take a look.

Thanks for your help I guess I will have to bite the bullet as any other make may have the same drawbacks as the one I have now, then again I may not like the X90

Have no idea what was chosen but I like 3,5 and 8 - perhaps I should say particularly like as all of them are worth a prolonged view. If I need four then I would go for 1 because of the detail, love the repair to the bench or is it that the concrete has fallen from the supporting wire.

Surely the silent AF is down to the lens and can you not use the select focus points on the KX you can on the K20 and the K7. As I do not own a KX I can't really comment but it does seem you are blaming the camera body for somthing that may well be nothing to do with it.

Does anyone own one, used one or tried one? Your comments please.

I see that although this model has been mentioned before no one seems to have any personal knowledge of it. Thanks.

Prefer the first although I think a little cropping would improve, perhaps crop some from the top and sides. It also seems that the DOF is not being used to the best advantage, there is a sharp area in the second shot but in the top shot it is not sharp enough. The whole image is a bit dark as well.

Do like the idea and think some experimentation could produce a winner, pPerhaps taking the shot from a lower level would work.

OH! I love gears and cogs, so yes works for me, would like to see some surrounding area all round including at the base, don't think I would want a too tight a crop.

Speaking for myself I am pleased to hear you are able to join in again, I understand that sometimes life barges in and you can't always do as you wish.

So welcome back!

Is there a thread or article that someone can point me to that will explain as to a fool how to check your (focus plane) and then if needed change it. How do you check for 'back' focus or 'front' focus. Many thanks.
