[quote:3496ace15f="TheVicar"]Noise aside, does it work well?
Did manage to take some pictures in poor light outside tonight with an 18-55 plus a 50-200, and noticed a noise with SR on continuous, much quieter, probably because of smaller focal corrections as you mention, plus I was outside and not in an empty house
The SR did seem to be working well, did not notice blur on any, took a picture with no signs of blur at 200mm, and 1/30th second. Didn't nail the focus though (using AF). I'm sure it's my poor technique, not the camera, e.g. I didn't have AF autozoom on

Yes I did

A bit of trial and error later it seems Shake Reduction was the problem, switching that off stopped it.
It mght be because I was using it under totally inappropriate conditions inside by electric light at night. It may be because I have SR set to continuous to steady the display.
Will try it properly if the sun ever comes out again,
Any theories gratefully received.
My idea was, not having had live view before, that I would get shake reduction combined with the steady image 'in lens' shake reduction gives you through a viewfinder.

So perhaps it really is a feature

Great news! Need a few more converts on here.

I have noticed that when I first use the OK button to zoom the screen for focussing in manual mode, it rather bizzarely uses the top left of the frame rather than the middle. It only does this with manual lenses Tony
I did notice it only happened after I had gone into the settings and enabled aperture ring, also the screen to set focal length for SR only came on after enabling aperture ring. Does this mean if you have a manual focus lens with an 'A' setting you have to enable aperture ring to use SR?
As an aside, does anyone know why aperture ring disable is the default? Under what conditions with an appropriate lens would you want to disable it?
Haven't tried focus peaking yet, but I must admit the green hexagon and beep on my GX10 & istDL2 was really good with manual lenses.
On the plus side, I think the silver K01 with 50mm f1.7 attached looks really cool. Always thought the lens looked somehow wrong on the front of the GX10

It duly arrived in the pouring rain on Monday, and it hasn't stopped raining since
Only had a play with it in the house so far, but I think I'm going to really like it

Tony, your comment about video being much easier with the K01 is I think the straw that will break my credit card's back
I feel another call to those nice people at SRS coming on

Having shot HD video with K01, I assume I can play it back through a HD ready TV via HDMI lead connecting camera to TV (possibly lead is optional extra) is this correct?
Stupid question, but what is best way to play back video on TV once I have transferred it from SD card to PC / external hard drive? I assume I can't copy it to DVD as they aren't HD. I'm guessing getting a lead to plug PC to TV is answer, but don't know.
Also does recorded video played straight from camera via lead to TV look really good?
Thanks
Peter

First tried 500mm Samyang mirror handheld. The sound I heard before is indeed due to the sensor moving around when on continuous shake reduction. Results were a bit disappointing, this lens is definitely easier to use handheld on the GX-10.
Then tried using a Samyang 800mm mirror, and a (cheap)monopod. Results far better, I was very pleased.
The continuous shake reduction certainly makes focussing easier, as it stops the image bouncing around, providing you can put up with your camera sounding like marbles are rolling around inside it, the focus peaking also worked, I thought it might not due to the lens being f8. Given the right combination of enough light to give a decent exposure, without too much to make the screen difficult to view, the 800 and monopod was better on the K01 than the GX-10.
I have no doubt that on a tripod, focus peaking for these f8 lenses would give me a better chance of nailing the focus than the green hexagon does on the GX-10.
Goes without saying this is all for a static subject, our church spire clock rarely moves
