Did you tell the camera what the focal length was?

Hmm, I don't have any other ideas then, other than that it will have to work for longer if you're using it to continuously steady the display (analogous to use of Live View on the dSLRs), and make larger corrections if you're using a long focal length. Not surprising that you can hear it working in those circumstances.I see where you're coming from, good question.
Yes I did
All I can say for sure is that the type of light at the time won't have anything to do with it - the SR system has no idea about any of that. It just senses physical movement, and moves the sensor to compensate. It has no idea what the image consists of, nor how well it's exposed.
Noise aside, does it work well?

When I had my Sigma 600mm mirror on hand-holding could hear the shake reduction working, wasn't clattering about but definitely hear it, once I had steadied up on the wall wasn't noticeable.
Pint o' rough & a game o' darts anyone

Not had chance to try the mirror yet in sufficient light, hopefully this weekend and will report back.[quote:3496ace15f="TheVicar"]Noise aside, does it work well?
Did manage to take some pictures in poor light outside tonight with an 18-55 plus a 50-200, and noticed a noise with SR on continuous, much quieter, probably because of smaller focal corrections as you mention, plus I was outside and not in an empty house
The SR did seem to be working well, did not notice blur on any, took a picture with no signs of blur at 200mm, and 1/30th second. Didn't nail the focus though (using AF). I'm sure it's my poor technique, not the camera, e.g. I didn't have AF autozoom on

Had the chance for a play today.
First tried 500mm Samyang mirror handheld. The sound I heard before is indeed due to the sensor moving around when on continuous shake reduction. Results were a bit disappointing, this lens is definitely easier to use handheld on the GX-10.
Then tried using a Samyang 800mm mirror, and a (cheap)monopod. Results far better, I was very pleased.
The continuous shake reduction certainly makes focussing easier, as it stops the image bouncing around, providing you can put up with your camera sounding like marbles are rolling around inside it, the focus peaking also worked, I thought it might not due to the lens being f8. Given the right combination of enough light to give a decent exposure, without too much to make the screen difficult to view, the 800 and monopod was better on the K01 than the GX-10.
I have no doubt that on a tripod, focus peaking for these f8 lenses would give me a better chance of nailing the focus than the green hexagon does on the GX-10.
Goes without saying this is all for a static subject, our church spire clock rarely moves

got a sharp shot of the moon K-01 500mm Russian mirror lens 6400 ISO.
Could be just luck but the anti shake was on.

A bit of trial and error later it seems Shake Reduction was the problem, switching that off stopped it.
It mght be because I was using it under totally inappropriate conditions inside by electric light at night. It may be because I have SR set to continuous to steady the display.
Will try it properly if the sun ever comes out again,
Any theories gratefully received.
My idea was, not having had live view before, that I would get shake reduction combined with the steady image 'in lens' shake reduction gives you through a viewfinder.
