A remarkable achievement, low tech but highly innovative. If indeed this camera is based around a K7 , (As compact as a prosumer camera can get , superb ergonomic) but with additional dials will make the camera slightly bulkier and add an oversized , high quality pentaprism full frame equivalent viewfinder, Yes may be larger than a K7 , but still compact. I consider the increase in size of the Pentaprism viewfinder , will attract new people to the Pentax brand. Also add the improvements of that age old bugbear..improvements in autofocus tracking and Pentax is onto a winning camera.

The price of £2000 is speculation , I have also seen figures of £1700 mentioned. I am unsure how the value of the pound/dollar affects pricing. But a quick check at competitors price I the lens are around the 1300-1400 mark and Pentax deliver on quality and value , so remains to be seen . The other new products are also good news.

a Pentax k70 and a superzoom lens such as a Pentax 18-270mm will give you long reach and far superior image quality, that shooting with the considerably larger
APS-C
You may even , if you can find a 3rd party sigma or tamron long zoom which will give you similar reach.

The advantage of this combo is ,for the days you want for better quality to stellar image quality you can change lens.

There are plenty of inexpensive and superb lens available for Pentax K mount , that can be purchased in mint condition for low prices.
The advantage being you stay with the same system, none of this flaffing about with different lens mounts and adapters.

I have no idea what they're on about with 'donations' though, as it seems you just buy the book. Maybe they get a %?
If you donate to the costs of running the forum you get the book for free
Do you know , what the expected donation is?
