I don't mind having a hard copy of my Manual - but I wish it weren't quite so thick 316 Pages !!

And by the time my camera bag is holding that and my Flash manual [ 139 pages only 19 of which are in English ] there's a lot of extra stuff taking up room in my bag

I've not got to grips fully with my K-x yet , I've car tax and a major Service for my Freelander next month -- I'm skint - but I have to admit that with our weather up here a weatherproofed camera would be nice.

I have to admit that as a MacHead I'm also puzzled by the iPad . I don't know what market it's aimed at .

If I'm away from home with camera [ even before I got my K-x ] I need to download photos - so need a computer with me - I can't [ as far as I know ] download them to the iPad.

It doesn't have any protection for its screen - so you are going to have to buy a case for it .

It's not pocket sized - so kids taking their toys with them [ and they do ] are going to have to take a bag .

I'm not really looking at what you can / can't run on it - I'm looking at sheer practicalities .

I just don't know what market it's aimed for - it's not a phone , it's not a computer , it's slightly more than a giant iTouch - whatever is it ?

well - the rate he's going, it may not last that long
